User Guide for Dimdim Web Meeting module in Moodle User Perspective: 1. To start Dimdim Web Meeting, the teacher has to create an instance of the Dimdim Web Meeting activity. Go to the course and select the Dimdim Web Meeting activity. To begin with this please click the Turn editing on button available at top right corner of the screen. Once you click you can refer to figure 1. Figure 1: Adding a Dimdim Web Meeting activity 2. On click of the Dimdim Web Meeting activity for the course by the teacher, Adding a new Dimdim Web Meeting page will come. If the user is a valid Dimdim User, default settings of the user will be taken from Dimdim will be prefilled and the information will be shown as in Figure 2. Enter / select the following fields and Click on Save Changes button. a. Web Meeting Name: Name of the Dimdim meeting you are starting. b. Meeting Agenda: Agenda of the Dimdim meeting you are starting. c. Dimdim account User name: This is the Dimdim username that is required for starting the meeting. d. Feedback email: Feedback email will be sent to this email address. e. Start Time: The time at which this meeting should be started. f. Private Chat: Enable / Disable Private Chat will turn on or turn of the feature for this Dimdim Web meeting. g. Public Chat:
Enable / Disable Public Chat will turn on or turn of the feature for this Dimdim Web meeting. h. Attendee Mikes: Maximum number of mikes that can be assigned to the attendees for audio chat while in the meeting. f. Audio - Video: Type of the audio-video option that the presenter wants to start for this Dimdim web meeting g. Recording: Enable / Disable Recording will turn on or turn of the feature from Dimdim Web meeting. h. Screencast: Enable / Disable Screencast will turn on or turn of the Desktop sharing feature for this Dimdim Web meeting. i. Document Sharing: Enable / Disable Document Sharing will turn on or turn of the Document Sharing feature for this Dimdim Web meeting. j. Whiteboard: Enable / Disable Whiteboard will turn on or turn of the Whiteboard feature for this Dimdim Web meeting. k. Cobrowsing: Enable / Disable Cobrowsing will turn on or turn of the Cobrowsing feature for this Dimdim Web meeting. k. Network: The type of the network you are using. k. Display Dial-in Info: Enable / Disable dial-in info will turn on or turn of the display of teleconferencing option for this Dimdim Web meeting. l. Allow Presenters to Invite: Enable / Disable of this option will allow or not allow the presenter to invite other attendees to this meeting. m. International Toll: Provide the international dial-in number for teleconferencing. n. Moderator Passcode: Provide the moderator passcode for the teleconferencing. o. Attendee Passcode:
Provide the attendee passcode for the teleconferencing. p. Assign mike to attendee on join: Enable / Disable this option will assign mike to the attendees who join for the first time. If we enable this option, presenter need not explicitly assign mikes to the attendees. q. Hands free on start: Enable / Disable this option will make the presenter audio broadcaster s hands free option selected or deselected. r. Assistant Enabled: Enable / Disable assistant enabled will turn on or turn of the assistant enabled link for this Dimdim Web meeting. s. Participant List: Enable / Disable this feature will either show or do not show the participant list for all the attendees of this Dimdim Web meeting. t. Meeting Hours: Maximum duration of this meeting. u. Waiting Area: Enable / Disable waiting area will make the attendees to wait in lobby. If enabled, the attendee has to be approved by presenter. v. Host Key: This is required for presenter rejoining scenario. If the meeting is started with this key, presenter will be allowed to rejoin to the meeting provided this key is given. w. Meeting Key: This is required for attendees to join the meeting along with the conference key. Now click on Save Changes button. Please refer to Figure 2.
Figure 2: Details about the Dimdim Web Meeting activity instance 3. If all the above-mentioned details are valid, the link to start the meeting will be provided after click of Save Changes button. The start of the meeting depends on the start time configured for the meeting. a. If scheduled time of the meeting is in the past, "This meeting occurred in the past and has finished" message will be displayed. b. If scheduled time of the meeting is in the future (more than 2 hours before the start of the meeting), a different message will be displayed. For example, This meeting has not started yet. This meeting is scheduled to start after 6 Days, 23 Hours, 57 Minutes and 23 Seconds, "Admin User" will start the meeting c. The link to start the meeting (please refer Figure 3) will be displayed in case of two scenarios: a. The meeting is scheduled to start in 15 minutes or less from current time b. The meeting was scheduled to start 2 hours or less than the current time.

Figure 5: Presenter s perspective of Dimdim Web Meeting Note: 1. Until the teacher starts the meeting, student will not be able to join the meeting. Backup and Restore of Dimdim Activity Data: Please use the normal Moodle procedure to backup and restore data. Dimdim activity data will also be backed up and restored through this procedure.
Student s Perspective: 1. Once the teacher has scheduled the Dimdim Web Meeting activity, the student will be able to see the event as he/she views any other moodle activity. Please refer to Figure 6. Figure 6: Student s perspective of Dimdim Web Meeting event 2. On click of the Dimdim Web Meeting activity by the student, the link to join the meeting should come. Display of this link will start 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the meeting. Before this time, instead of the link, a message stating that the scheduled start time of the Dimdim Web Meeting is in future will be displayed. The display of the link will continue till 2 hours after the scheduled start time of the Dimdim Web Meeting. After this, instead of the link, a message stating that this conference was scheduled and completed in the past will be displayed. Please refer Figure 7.
