Our Hospital Mater Private Hospital Redland was established in September 2000 as an extension of the mission of the Sisters of Mercy, to provide the highest quality health care services for the people of the Bayside area. Mater Private Hospital Redland is proud to be able to offer the growing Bayside community exceptional care close to their families and friends. Rehabilitation Services Mater Private Redland Rehabilitation serves as a satellite service to the already established inpatient and day therapy rehabilitation unit located at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane. The comprehensive multidisciplinary rehabilitation program at Mater Private Hospital Redland, delivers exceptional individualised care and is committed to helping people achieve their optimum level of functioning. The team collaborate with patients and families to promote a supportive, goal-orientated rehabilitation environment and includes: rehabilitation doctors rehabilitation nurses occupational therapists physiotherapists Dieticians, podiatrists, psychologists, orthotists and prosthetists are available when required, and pastoral care workers and volunteers are also available to support you during your stay. Hand hygiene is one of the best ways of preventing infection. Ensuring you clean your hands both before and after visiting a friend or relative in hospital, will help reduce the risk of infection - Hand sanitiser gel is available throughout the hospital. If hands are visibly soiled, wash your hands at a basin with soap and ensure hands are dried thoroughly when finished. If possible, avoid touching wounds, dressings or any catheters, drains or drips during your stay. Your nurse will be happy to assist you with these items at any time. If friends or relatives are feeling unwell with cold, flu or upset stomachs; we advise that they should delay their visiting at the hospital, until they are feeling better. Arranging Your Admission All hospital admissions at Mater Private Hospital Redland are arranged directly through your GP or specialist via referral and subsequent booking. Payment For patients who are privately insured, you will need to contact your private health insurance provider prior to your admission, to ensure you understand your level of cover.
