As a member of the division leadership team, the Assistant Manager will participate in division strategic planning, have an active role in division development, and manage day-to-day division operations. The Assistant Manager will have primary responsibility for quality management services for child welfare services, public assistance and vocational services, and comprehensive services for older adults. Additional program areas may, at the discretion of the QM Director, include mental health services, substance abuse services, public health, and agency administrative services. 1

To qualify for this classification, an individual must possess any combination of education and experience that would likely produce the required knowledge and abilities. A desirable combination is: Education/ Experience: Five years of increasingly responsible professional level program experience in a human services, public health, mental health, drug/alcohol, or social services program including three years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. AND A Bachelor s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in social work, clinical or counseling psychology, nursing, or a related field. A Master s degree is desirable. Desirable Qualifications Licensure: Possession of one of the following valid licenses issued by the State of California is highly desirable: Physician; Licensed Psychologist; Licensed Clinical Social Worker; Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist, or a Registered Nurse. 2

Work collaboratively with program managers, supervisors, and staff in a manner that engages the full exchange of ideas and open discussions. Work with Agency programs in a supportive fashion assisting them in their efforts to effectively run and operate their programs. Respect the authority of the program managers who have program responsibility for the areas they manage. Develop, coordinate, and operate quality management support services. Assist in the development of various program monitoring matrices. Design databases for multiple users including to design queries, forms, and reports. Prepare clear and concise correspondence, audit reports, and other analytical documents. Prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports. Operate a variety of office equipment including personal computers and related peripheral equipment and software applications. Work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to: Work primarily in a standard office setting with some travel to different sites and locations. Work extended hours including evenings and weekends.
