ParkingManagementSystems Videobased Parking Management System INDOOR and OUTDOOR Description Mai 2011
Video-based Parking Management System INSIDE and OUTSIDE Control The video-based individual parking space recording system is modular, addressable and automated. The detection system is equally designed for inside as well as outside use and is completely integrated in the central Parking Management System. Protocol The video-based individual parking space detection system uses the standard network protocol. The protocols for communicating between the detection units (IP cameras) and the video sensor OPC servers are fully integrated in the Parking Management System. The communications connections to other systems like parking technology, alarm systems, fault indicator systems, central management systems, etc., are established through standard OPC connections. Hardware Requirements The video-based individual parking space detection system and the central Parking Management System are set up exclusively on standard hardware platforms. The Parking Management System consists of: 1. Parking space detection units Intelligent IP video-based detection units monitor the parking spaces. The parking space detection unit combines parking space monitoring with parking space availability display so that the driver can immediately detect empty parking spaces when driving along a line of parked cars. The LED displays above the parking spaces are green to indicate available parking spaces. The displays are red when the parking spaces are occupied. The red/green displays are not fastened to the detection units and may be installed remotely. For indoor use, a detection unit can usually detect 3-4 parking spaces at the same time. For outdoor use, up to 32 parking spaces are possible with one detection unit. 2. Video Sensor OPC server Video analysis software to record the conditions of each individual parking space. In the video sensor, the individual parking spaces are covered by analysis fields that are then evaluated by the sensor based on specific criteria. A comparison with a stored reference image then produces the logical value of "occupied" or "not occupied" for each individual parking space. Parking Management Software The results from the sensors are scanned into the central Parking Management System and stored in a central database. The data of both the inside and outside sensors are managed in the PMS software. With the Parking Management Software, user-specific visualizations can be generated using statistical analysis, control functions and video displays. A digital video recorder for image archiving is a standard feature of the Parking Management Software. Up to 64 channels per server can be connected by LAN (Local Area Network). PMS System Overview 4. Fault and Bandwidth Management All system components are continuously monitored. Any faults are reported automatically. The data flow between the management PC, servers and detection units is monitored and optimized. 5. Detection Server Equipped with video analysis software and the database, the detection server provides the clients (management PCs) with updated data. A detection server can manage up to 64 channels. The number of detection servers in large systems is freely scalable. 6. Electronic Display / Info Display: Electronic displays and info displays show the real-time availability of parking spaces in a level-by-level or an overall view, guiding the driver quickly and efficiently to the next available parking space. Displays are available in a variety of formats and are proposed based on the project. The arrangement and the positions of the displays are adjusted to the customer's conditions. 7. Management PC and Software: The system can be managed by one or more management PCs. The management PCs are equipped with user-friendly graphics software. The software monitors the parking system in real time, including the current status of the parking spaces. Parking offenders can be detected and automatically reported. Video data can be displayed via the graphics software on one or more monitors integrated in the interface. Analysis and statistics about the usage rate of an individual parking space and the parking facility as a whole can be displayed. 8. Video Surveillance and Monitoring: The fully integrated video monitoring is likewise managed and displayed via the management PC. Existing video surveillance systems can be integrated and then used and managed with the same software. The recording time depends on the size of the hard drive and can be modified at the customer's request. 1. Monitor 2. Monitor 3. Monitor 4. Monitor Sample configuration of video client 9. Energy Management: Depending on the usage rate of the parking garage, the lighting and the ventilation system can be controlled by the PMS software. This can provide considerable savings on the energy costs of lighting. Parkraum Management Systeme Innen- & Außenbereich Beschreibung Seite 5
10. Automatic Numberplate Recognition (ANPR): The automatic detection of number plates is possible at different locations, at the entrance and exit of the parking as well as on the individual parking spaces (indoor). The latter enables that the individual parking space number can be linked to the corresponding license plate of the car. Via interface, this information can be transferred to and processed by higher level management systems like e.g. guidance, booking or billing systems. ANPR at the entrance and exit lines. ANPR per parking space 11. Truck Parking: Automatic detection of free truck parking spaces. The results will be sent to special traffic control systems. All pictures are stored in the integrated IP- Videomanagement system. Parkraum Management Systeme Innen- & Außenbereich Beschreibung Seite 6
