1 64CH/720p IP Camera Surveillance Solution Description Feature Requirements: 64ch/720p IP cameras live view 64ch/720p IP cameras recording data centralized archiving Simultaneous 16ch/720p video decoding and output to public view Real-time response to alert and event from on-site device Centralized management of entire surveillance system System Planning: Allocate 3 switches based on 100Mbps and 1 switch based on 1000Mbps for 64 IP cameras. 64 IP cameras in groups connected to three 100M switches through 100M Ethernet ports; while three 100M switches connect to one 1000M switch through 1000M Ethernet ports. All servers for CMS connect to one 1000M switch through 1000M Ethernet network adapters. Required Unisight components: Data Center, Advanced Unit, Gateway, Digital Matrix, NVR, Client. Data Center: Provide data service and management based on a robust and versatile advanced database as a primary core component for the entire system Advanced Unit: Provide global time synchronization service for all on-site servers Gateway: Proxy to transmit command and video stream for bandwidth management (preventing an overload) Digital Matrix: Decoding compression video stream to output to public view for display NVR: Archive recording data through network, which optionally connects to SAN/NAS/RAID Alert-monitoring Client: Respond to alert, alarm and event from on-site server, and review status info and define various response modes Video-monitoring Client: Provide remote video live view, playback and parameters setup for IP cameras

3 Interpretation: 1. Gateway Server utilizes three 1000Mbps Ethernet network adapters, which are individually distributed into 3 different subnets: Adapter 1 and NVR Server in the same subnet; Adapter 2 and IP camera in the same subnet; Adapter 3 and Datacenter/Time Sync Server/Clients in the same subnet 2. Data Center and Time Sync (Advanced Unit) server should run on the same physical server 3. Real-time monitoring and managing of IP cameras 4. Respond to and process alerts and events from on-site devices 5. TV video input directly connect to VGA/DVI interface of Digital Matrix Server M switch must connect to 1000M switch through 1000M Ethernet port

4 Hardware Configuration Data Center and Advanced Unit (Time Sync) are recommended to be installed and run on the same physical server. Gateway, Digital Matrix, NVR, Alert-monitoring and Video-monitoring Client should be installed and run on different physical servers. Since the limitation of network bandwidth, in principle the number of network connections between on-site devices and CMS Client or Matrix server cannot be more than 64. Gateway Server needs to be setup on 3 network adapters based on 1000Mbps to distribute all data stream and control network bandwidth. 5 *Video Network Bandwidth Calculation 100M Ethernet network flux expressed in 8Mbytes/s, and 1000M Ethernet network in 24Mbytes/s. Single channel of video bandwidth calculation below offered just as reference only. Actual bandwidth usage will be determined by stream settings (framerate/compression) and video complexity (how much motion/how many colors).
