Four studies completed that addressed the capabilities of grantees in New York State to implement health information exchange under one of two public health use cases: 1. Health Information Exchange for Public Health Reporting (HIE for PH) Use Case: a) 2009 2012 A risk based evaluation of the capabilities of three regional health information organizations to participate in New York State s Universal Public Health Node. b) 2010 2011 Application of systems dynamic modeling to evaluate the complexity of implementing statewide Health Information Exchange for Public Health Reporting in New York State. 2. The Immunization Reporting via Electronic Health Records Use Case: a) 2011 2012 A secondary analysis of immunization records submitted by primary care practices in New York City, pre and post launch of an automated reporting EHR focused on the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of immunization records. b) 2011 2012 An evaluation of the timeliness and accuracy of immunization reporting within a recently implemented EHR system to the New York State Immunization Information Session including an assessment of user satisfaction with the EHR immunization reporting template. 2012 2013 Co-Investigator, systematic review of the literature on the financial effects of health information technology, Center for Healthcare Informatics and Policy, Weill Cornell Medical College.
