Professional Affiliations American Bar Association Program Approval The Paralegal Program is approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), achieving the recognition as 1 of only 10 ABA-approved programs in Texas. Fire Protection Technology Texas Commission on Fire Protection Occupational Safety & Health Administration Federal Aviation Administration Environmental Protection Agency Criminal Justice Program The Criminal Justice Program hosts a variety of conferences and trainings each year, including the Child Abuse Prevention Conference and the Women in Criminal Justice Conference. In addition, the program is approved to provide the following certification credits: law enforcement (TCLEOSE); adult probation (CJAD); juvenile probation (TJPC); substance abuse (TCBAP); and state bar/attorneys (MCLE). Paralegal Program Texas Panhandle Paralegal Association American Association for Paralegal Education Amarillo Area Bar Association The Panhandle Regional Law Enforcement Academy at Amarillo College has trained law enforcement professionals since the early 1970s, totaling over 100 academies and 2,300 graduates. The training for Basic Peace Officers operates under the mandates of the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE). Academy graduates qualify to take the state-licensing exam. I started working for my law firm during my first semester of college in the paralegal program. The ABA-approved program is extremely comprehensive and covers many areas that a paralegal needs in order to become job ready.
