GENERAL RULES FOR DDP/DAP SHIPMENTS CERTIFIED BY: All invoices must be clear with commodity and description in English for Customs Customs requires a USA consignee if the Importer of Record is foreign based Each USA consignee must provide a tax id number or social security number for clearance Shipments for importers with an annual Customs bond can be cleared in any USA office with a brokerage office for any port of entry Shipments for importers with NO annual Customs bond can only be cleared at the port of entry and by SDBUSA office that has brokerage.

FASHION: The Manufacturer s I.D. What Is It? CERTIFIED BY: When merchandise is entered into the U.S., part of the declaration made to US Customs on the entry summary (CBP Form 7501) is that of the Manufacturer Identification Code (MID). This code is intended to identify the manufacturer of the merchandise and together with the name and address of the invoicing party (whose invoice accompanies the Customs entry), an MID code is constructed. Special attention should be paid to textile shipments, as the manufacturer should be construed to refer to the actual manufacturer in accordance with 19 CFR 102.23(a) and the Appendix to 19 CFR Part 102 Textile and Apparel Manufacturer Identification.

MID CODE CERTIFIED BY: So how do we put this code together anyway? The following rules* explain how to construct the MID: The code can be up to 15 characters in length, with no inserted spaces. To begin, for the first 2 characters, use the ISO code for the actual country of origin of the goods Next, use the first three characters from the first two words of the name Next, find the largest number on the street address line and use up to the first four numbers. Finally, use the first three alpha characters from the city name *These rules are taken from Appendix 2 of DHS CBP Form 7501 Instructions, updated March 17, 2011

(a) It is unlawful to import into this state for commercial purposes, to possess with intent to sell, or to sell within the state, the dead body, or any part or product thereof, of a polar bear, leopard, ocelot, tiger, cheetah, jaguar, sable antelope, wolf (Canis lupus), zebra, whale, cobra, python, sea turtle, colobus monkey, kangaroo, vicuna, sea otter, free-roaming feral horse, dolphin or porpoise (Delphinidae), Spanish lynx, or elephant. b) (1) Commencing January 1, 2020, it shall be unlawful to import into this state for commercial purposes, to possess with intent to sell, or to sell within the state, the dead body, or any part or product thereof, of a crocodile or alligator. (2) This subdivision shall not be construed to authorize the importation or sale of any alligator or crocodilian species, or any products thereof, that are listed as endangered under the federal Endangered Species Act, or to allow the importation or sale of anyalligator or crocodilian species, or any products thereof, inviolation of any federal law or international treaty to which the United States is a party. (c) (1) This section shall not apply to kangaroos that may be harvested lawfully under Australian national and state law, the federal Endangered Species Act of 1971 (16 U.S.C. Sec. 1531 et seq.), and applicable international conventions, provided that the Department of Fish and Game is annually informed in writing, by May1, by the Australian government that the commercial harvest of kangaroos in any future year will not exceed the official quota for that year, consistent with Australian national and state law, and of the sustainability principles on which that quota is based

FDA: FOOD AND DRUGS ADMINISTRATION CERTIFIED BY: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or USFDA) is a federal agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, one of the United States federal executive departments. The FDA is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety, tobacco products, dietary supplements, prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical drugs (medications), vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, blood transfusions, medical devices, electromagnetic radiation emitting devices (ERED), cosmetics, animal foods & feed[5] and veterinary products. All FDA food importers/manufacturers must be registered with FDA prior to importation SDBUSA cannot act as an agent for any foreign factory or importer Sunglasses require FDA registration and payment prior to importation All invoices must be in English and should contain registration numbers

PMS (periodic monthly statement) ACH (automated clearinghouse) CERTIFIED BY: There is a process called PMS in which the party paying the duty can pay on a monthly basis. If you wanted to have this option you would need to apply for an ACH account with Customs using a bank that has a branch in the USA. This process allows: all eligible shipments released during the month to be paid on the 15th working day of the following month the filer to select either a national or a port /airport statement accounts to view the statement as it is being built
