Paulding Aerospace Alliance Paulding County, Georgia USA Community Connections Through Aerospace The PAA is a resource for the exchange of ideas, information and business opportunities for Paulding s burgeoning aerospace community. Paulding s aerospace sector offers a multitude of premier products, skill sets and competencies. Paulding s strategic location twenty-five miles northwest of downtown Atlanta is within one of America s largest aerospace clusters and the number of operations, workers, colleges and universities dedicated to the aerospace sector is quite impressive. Consider the following: 2 Established in September 12, the Paulding Aerospace Alliance (PAA) is an organization of aerospace manufacturers, aviation companies, economic development and chamber of commerce organizations, airport operators, colleges and universities, and state entities that work to promote and expand the aerospace industry in Paulding County, Georgia. In 10 Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport (PUJ), the first jet capable airport constructed in Georgia in over thirty years, opened for business. The airport has a 6,000-foot runway and 10-acre Airport Technology Park designed specifically for aerospace and aviation operations. Over 5,000 acres of municipally owned land is adjacent to the airport and offers numerous business development opportunities. Paulding s aerospace industry has been growing annually with impressive, well-respected firms such as Aerospace Fabrications of Georgia, Top Flight Aerostructures, Rare MetalSource, RotorWorks and West Cobb Engineering creating and providing services to some of the world s premier aerospace companies. Nearly half of Georgia s fifty largest aerospace employers are located within a one-hour drive of Paulding County. Within 60 miles of Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport there are over 13,100 people employed in the aerospace industry. Georgia s largest aerospace company, Lockheed Martin, with over 7,500 employees, is located 26 miles from PUJ in Marietta. Meggitt, the state s third largest aerospace company with over 1,000 employees, is just ten miles from PUJ in Rockmart. The Paulding region is home to Dobbins Air Force Base and Delta Air Lines. While these facts alone make Paulding County an outstanding location for aerospace and aviation operations, it is our existing aerospace industry and resources that make the difference. The Paulding Aerospace Alliance s founding members include: Aerospace Fabrications of Georgia Chattahoochee Technical College Georgia Center of Innovation for Aerospace Georgia Tech Enterprise Innovation Institute Paulding Chamber of Commerce Paulding Paulding Northwest Atlanta Airport Rare MetalSource RotorWorks Top Flight Aerostructures West Cobb Engineering The Paulding Aerospace Alliance is your guide to one of Georgia s most impressive aerospace and aviation regions. The number of aerospace and aviation firms in Paulding is expected to grow substantially in the near future and the PAA, through its community connections through aerospace, will be the leading advocate and voice for the industry s expansion in Paulding.
