Startup Village Bootcamp Programme The State of Andhra Pradesh has come out with the Country s first innovation and Startup Policy, which aims at promoting student entrepreneurship in the State. The Startup policy enables the students of the State to follow their entrepreneurial ambitions while they are still in the College. Sunrise Startups Incubation Center at Vishakhapatnam A Pre-Launch talk session on Startup Village and Startup Bootcamp Programme has been conducted at JNTUK, Kakinada to the Students and Faculty on 25 th January, 2015. The Launch session has been conducted in Startup Village at Sunrise Startups Incubation Centre on 29 th January, 2015 in Vishakapatnam. The main objective of this event is to sign the

Launch Talk Session at Vishakapatnam Importance of Startup Village Bootcamp Programme Startup Village Bootcamp is a plan to nurture creativity, promote entrepreneurship and spread a word on how starting young is the first step to the Startup of you!! The Bootcamp will function as a mini incubator in the college catering to the nascent requirements of budding student entrepreneurs in the college. Although similar structures may have been present, Startup Villgae Bootcamps, shall be managed entirely by the students of the respective college. The learning curve of all the change agents involved shall be steep having managed a mini incubator in their colleges, a startup in itself. Promoting entrepreneurship shall be just one of the many focus areas of the Bootcamps. The Bootcamps will act as the platform for creativity with a range of programs to strike chord with creative interests of any nature ranging from robotics and space science to theatre and arts. The idea is to help the youth in becoming better at what they are already good at and finally make a product/profession/startup out of it. Each bootcamp may take up a social cause in or around their campuses and come up with innovative solutions making them direct part of the nation building process. Being a part of Startup Village Bootcamp means being a member of community of more than 500 startup ideas, hundreds of technical workshops, seminars and high impact social projects.

Sunrise Startups Initiative The government of Andhra Pradesh has come out with a landmark policy on innovation and entrepreneurship, the AP innovation and Startup Policy 2014. The policy talks about many visionary initiatives, which aims at building a world class startup ecosystem in the state and also the creation of a long term talent pipeline by empowering the youth of the state with the skill sets of 21 st century. As a part of the Sunrise Startups Initiative, Startup Village has setup the Pilot Incubator in Vishakapatnam. The Startup Bootcamp Programme aims at establishing Entrepreneurship Development Clubs in all the colleges across the state. These clubs shall be run by students and will aim at promoting entrepreneurial activities in the respective colleges. IT is the right time to innovate! AP is the right place to innovate!!

Objectives of Startup Bootcamp The Startup Bootcamp shall be founded on the below mentioned objectives and it shall be the duty of the Bootcamp to strive towards achieving these objectives: To develop and encourage the spirit of innovation and drive to follow the passions among students. Create a student friendly ecosystem favouring learning and development of all forms of creative skills in the Institution. To become a platform for cultural change and organize workshops, seminars or informal conferences on topics covering every creative intent To encourage and accelerate the upgradation of Research and Development (R&D) facilities in the college, spearhead cultural activities and help create an atmosphere of knowledge sharing. To promote knowledge driven and technology based startup ventures by students, faculty personnel, other local entrepreneurs and employee turned entrepreneurs. With a view to attain the above objectives, the college management may: 1. Setup R&D facilities, Training Academy, Innovation Labs, Design and Pilot Production facilities and Commercialization facilities to be utilized by student entrepreneurs from the college. 2. Support software developers by installing high performance computers, servers and advanced Telecom & Data Communication facilities. 3. Setup a physical space exclusively for use by the startup Bootcamp with computer and nternet facilities that is open to the students at all times throughout the year. 4. Support the students by setting up centralized seminar, conference and recreation facilities. 5. Contrast project feasibility and product identification studies for high technology products. 6. Provide all necessary assistance for the students to give their passion a try through the Startup Bootcamp. 7. Encourage students to promote the Startup Bootcamp and its facilities to attract likeminded entrepreneurs, angel funds and venture capital funds from the region and beyond. 8. Encourage the Startup Bootcamp to undertake publications in the form of papers, books, audio/video means, journals and monthly newsletter.

9. Encourage and support students and faculty for continuous interaction between the Universities, research organizations and industry for product/services oriented innovative research. 10. Encourage the Startup Bootcamp to create a pool of mentors in the fields of buiseness, finance, marketing, legal and any creative area and provide mentoring service to the students in the college. 11. Encourage close interaction of the Bootcamp with Startup Village, the Pilot Incubator of the State. 12. Startup Bootcamp shall be managed with an institutional framework with independent and autonomous authority, responsibility and flexibility for dynamic operation to acheive the objectives. 13. Provide avenues for competent people from within the country as well as from outside India to participate in the activities of the Startup Bootcamp. 14. To offer Certificates, Prizes and Awards in furtherance of the objectives of the Startup Bootcamp.

Startup Bootcamp Executive Commitee Startup Bootcamp shall be run completely by students of the college and shall consist of an Executive Committee. The executive Committee shall undertake the day-to-day management of the startup Bootcamp. The Executive Committee shall comprise the following roles and their responsibilities as follows: I. CEO Chief Executive Officer II. CTO Chief Technical Officer III. COO Chief Operating Officer IV. CMO Chief Marketing Officer V. CFO -- Chief Financial Officer VI. CCO Chief Creative Officer VII. CSO Chief Social Officer Additionally, the Bootcamp shall have representative Vice President (VP) from each class to assist the Executive Committee. The Executive Committee in association with the staff member nominated by the college management shall ensure that the VP is selected from all the classes in the college. Promotional Session Spread the Word Promotional sessions have been conducted for the students of all years in our college regarding Startup Village Bootcamp Programme on the following dates: 06-02-15 ECE 07-02-15 EEE 09-02-15 CSE Inorder to start the functioning of all the activities of Bootcamp Programme effectively a committee has to be formed with the students. Both CEO and CTO candidates of the committee have been shortlisted by the Startup Village Bootcamp Administration. To select the other members of committee, written exam has been conducted for the students on 14-02- 15. All the shortlisted candidates in the exam have attended an interview on 18-02-15 by a panel of Placement Incharges of our college.

In general, the exclusion of a member when necessary shall proceed as follows: Terms and Conditions: A member of the committee is terminated when the member: Becomes an aluminus/alumina after 4 years in the Bootcamp or when the college course is completed, whichever comes first. Does not complete the minimum requirements set forth by each individual Bootcamp s internal governance guidelines or agreement within the Bootcamp. Engages in activities contrary to the spirit of the Startup Village Bootcamp. Changes college, place of study due to some reasons. Resigns voluntarily from the Executive Committee

BOOTCAMP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF OUR COLLEGE Infrastructure to be Established in College

In accordance to the agreement, the college administration is requested to provide the infrastructure setup for the student entrepreneurs to start operations. The infrastructure includes the following: - A decent spacious room - 10 Computers, System tables and Chairs - Wifi connectivity of speeds greater than 2Mbps - White Boards with Stationery (markers & Dusters) - Bean bags - Projector, Speakers and a Printer - Creative designs on the walls of the room More than one lakh students undergo technical education in Andhra Pradesh every year. If we are to effectively utilize the huge talent pool the State of Andhra Pradesh holds, an entrepreneurial revolution is in order, Startup Village, Vishakhapatnam aims to be the centre of this empowering revolution..
