We support SCSI and Fibre Channel connections for the devices listed in this hardware compatibility guide as long as they are supported by a hardware vendor. We do not support storage devices on NetWorker unless they are listed in this hardware compatibility guide. We no longer maintain a list of supported HBA cards since HBA technology is mature and stable and does not cause any trouble with NetWorker. In Footnote 1 to this Hardware Compatibility Guide, we will only list specific HBA + driver combinations that we know cause trouble with NetWorker. We recommend you to check the availability of the latest firmware directly at the device manufacturer website. The best firmware to use in most cases is the latest production firmware available from the device manufacturer. Devices configurations marked "D" in the column called "Discontinued" have been discontinued by the hardware vendors but we still list them as supported by NetWorker for the OS versions qualified. OS Drivers for these IBM drives are available at "ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/storage/devdrvr/". - For IBM LTO and LTO-2 on Linux, stinit.def driver was used for qualification testing. - For Solaris, both IBMtape driver and st.conf entry are supported. (Please see "http://legato.com/resources/compatibility/networker.cfm" for suggested entries.) If IBMtape driver is a must, then customer will need to disable CDI. If CDI is a must, then a customer will need to use st.conf entry. 44. For SGI IRIX, please verify OS support by the tape drive manufacturer for the tape drive you intend to use. 51. For an IBM 3584 multiframe jukebox with LTO drives installed, the tape drives have to be in a contiguous sequence. If it is not configured in this manner, sjirdtag, sjirelem, inquire and jb_config all return a list of drives that include tape devices where no devices are present. 52. To use the I/E port, the library's Enable Queued Unload option should be un-checked. 53. The ADIC SNC Fibre bridge or I/O Blade of ADIC Intelligent libraries is not supported on Tru64.
