Corporate clients of the bank can access, enter and track their entire trade portfolio of traditional trade and open-account trade transactions through the Client Access module for both domestic and international transactions. The Traditional Trade module processes transactions, such as letters of credit and collections, while openaccount transactions are routed by the Open Account module s workflows and queues, making them available for supply-chain financing at the bank s option. Together they form a full trade solution that addresses every transaction type within the corporate portfolio. 1

ACI understands in today s business environment that increasing trade finance products and services is an important aspect to providing banks with growth opportunities. The challenge is to deliver new products that will build new revenue streams. By utilizing the open platform approach the bank can enable the integration of their customers strategic trading partners (that may not be customers of the bank), creating more business opportunities for the bank with existing clients and reaching new customers through interaction with their customers trade partners. Global Trade Manager is designed to enable a greater amount of straight-through processing than previously available in the market. The ability to create invoices automatically from the purchase order (PO) data, along with shipping documents, packing lists and dock receipts, can be fee-producing services. By creating portfolios for accounts payable and accounts receivable, the application is able to drive the workflow for financing requests based on a simple set of parameters. Portfolios can be created for automatic invoice discounting where access by the seller can be optional. This creates the opportunity for fees and financing income. Using business process executable language (BPEL) as the underlying business process management engine gives Global Trade Manager a process-oriented architecture. This facilitates business process personalization flexibility that drives workflows based on the user (language, knowledge, commodity, location, skill set, etc.) and the transaction (client, region, value, time, importance, product, etc.). These workflows can be tied to internal or external SLAs and allow management visibility for dynamic reassignment. Banks can provide a collaborative platform for corporate clients and partner banks through the availability of trade services utility (TSU) services that can be used to expand into new territories and clients. They can improve the bank s competitive advantage with broad services aimed at white labeling and in-sourcing services for their partner banks to build volumes and increase profits. ACI Global Trade Manager Client Access Client Access online trade finance solution provides the tools for banks customers to efficiently run their import or export business. The online portal allows all types of trade transactions to enter Global Trade Manager. The product combines traditional trade functionality, from documentary credits to guarantees, with innovative purchase order-based open-account solutions. Flexible and strong reporting provides increased visibility into the financial supply chain. The solution provides easy integration with existing core systems, portals and other customer-facing solutions. Features include: Fully customizable PO processing system Rich reporting functionality Multi-lingual Multi-affiliate banking Parent child functionality Global Trade Manager Open Account Global Trade Manager s Open Account module is a 2012 SWIFTReady Supply Chain Finance-certified application and the only application built from the ground up based on the standards of SWIFT TSU messages. As an end-to-end collaborative platform for the processing and financing of open-account transactions, Open Account serves as the entry for the corporate clients complete trade portfolio of transactions through ERP integration, TSU messages, EDI, manual data entry or multiple types of file upload. Open Account is made up of the following modules: TSU Messenger This module is for the sending, receiving and reconciliation of bank client data through the SWIFTNet TSU messaging network or through ACI s own TSU Proxy. The TSU Proxy is a unique innovation that by design mimics all the features, formats and functions that are available when using the SWIFTNet TSU. This enables one bank to send, receive or reconcile messages in TSU format with another 4

bank. The TSU Proxy will enable any bank to pick-up the buyer s information, format it as TSU messages, send this information on to the seller s bank, plus do the reconciliation. This is available as a stand-alone messaging system. AP and AR Director Displays accounts receivable and accounts payable information from buyer and seller in a value-added format. This presentation allows for the ability to record and process POs with match/ mismatch capabilities against invoices along with added shipment documents. It allows buyer, seller and thirdparty logistics to input transaction data and documents, update delivery status and prepare items for financing. Supply-Chain Finance The bank is able to review and make a decision to finance approved items. A flexible variety of financing can be provided to either buyer or seller in several forms and as individual transactions or through grouped portfolios. Trade Enhanced Payments Allows the bank to cost effectively offer a reconciliation service to the corporations. Starting with either the PO or invoice, and by matching against an agreed set of key fields, the bank can produce a set of documents that can be pushed to the buyer for planned settlement. Once payment orders are executed, the bank will send the payment to the supplier and the payment confirmation to the buyer with a complete matched set of documents per payment for their reference. Global Trade Manager Traditional Trade Global Trade Manager s Traditional Trade module is a traditional trade finance solution with a workflow designed to process all the standard types of instruments typically used for international trade. The workflow is driven by a BPEL engine that gives flexibility which can be based on the user (language, knowledge, commodity, location) 5

and the client (region, value, time, importance, product) with bank management oversight, visibility and dynamic reassignment for managers, tied as needed to internal or external SLAs. Traditional Trade supports the following components: Documentary credits Automates the processing of all letter of credit types, including imports/exports, sight/time, indemnities, revolving, back-to-back, transfers and assignment of proceeds Standby credits Supports the ability to generate all types of standby letters of credit such as performance, financial, warranty and evergreen. This component includes supporting functionality such as auto-extension processing, automated periodic fee processing and automated commission accrual/amortization. The automated periodic fee processing automatically generates the debit or bill advises and also generates the appropriate accounting entries. Bonds and guarantees Supports the ability to generate all types of bonds and guarantees such as bid bond, warranty, performance, financial, etc. Supporting functionality includes auto-extension, periodic fee processing along with an automated accrual/amortization process. The fees are processed automatically and generate the necessary accounting entries. Collections Provides the bank with the ability to process incoming/outgoing, clean documentary, foreign and domestic collections. This eases collection efforts and increases efficiency by offering features such as issuance, amendment, payment, automated tracing, protest, status reporting, inquiries, management information, accounting and other related functions. Bills finance This comprehensive loan system can be utilized to process many loan/advance types including (but not limited to) packing credit loans, trust receipt loans, export negotiation loans and collections. This provides supporting functionality for amortizing interest taken under discounted loans and accrued interest to be taken under non-discounted loans. Factoring The ability to purchase a corporation s accounts receivables, or a portion of it, at a discount in exchange for immediate funding to the firm. Shipping guarantees For the creation of steamship guarantees and airway releases granted on behalf of the bank s customers. Guarantees can be linked to an underlying documentary letter of credit or collection, or exist as a stand-alone transaction. Bankers acceptances Accommodates the sale, purchase, anticipation and discounting of acceptances with other financial institutions. The bank has the ability to sell acceptances generated by the bank and to purchase them back at maturity. Additionally, the bank can discount non-discounted acceptances and handle full or partial pre-payment by the bank s customer or correspondent. Reimbursements Facilitates high-volume reimbursement activities typical of third-party reimbursement agents. The functionality accommodates automatic generation of transactions based upon the incoming MT740, MT747 and MT742 messages received from the issuing or claiming banks. Participations This component provides the bank with the ability to buy in and sell or share risk under documentary credits, standby credits, bonds, guarantees and acceptances with other institutions. 6

Product architecture Global Trade Manager is 100% Java, based upon J2EE technology, built on a strict service-oriented architecture (SOA) upon a Spring Framework, with interfacing done through an enterprise services bus and using a BPEL engine to process workflows. This technology allows the greatest flexibility available in the market for business functionality, business processes and ease of integration to other bank or third-party systems. The design is built of symbiotic modules: for traditional trade finance, Traditional Trade module, and for open-account transactions, the processing is through the Open Account module, both gaining portal accessibility through the Client Access module.
