COURSE INLINE INSPECTION OF PIPELINES CRITICAL FACTORS IN STRUCTURAL DESIGN, TESTING AND MANUFACTURING Denver Marriott Tech Center EUCI is authorized by IACET to offer 0.8 CEUs for the course. 1
OVERVIEW This one day Inline Inspection of Pipelines course provides pipeline companies and operators with the knowledge needed to establish and manage intelligent pigging programs. A brief history of the inspection industry will be included along with a general tool overview. Attendees will become familiar with in-line inspection systems and their value to pipeline integrity. The focus of the course will be on the engineering principles and practical application of in-line inspection tools and technologies to safely assess and manage pipeline integrity. At the end of the course, attendees will be able to assess, prioritize, and mitigate risks to the public and the environment as well as manage the overall pipeline integrity of your company s assets. WHO SHOULD ATTEND Pipeline project managers Engineers Pipeline operations, maintenance and technical personnel responsible for pipeline integrity management, flow assurance, corrosion control, and safety Consultants and support industries that have a need to know about pipeline inspections LEARNING OUTCOMES Explain the field operations process for in-line inspection Define Above Ground Markers (AGM s) and how they are utilized Discuss the process of pipeline cleaning Explain the pros and cons of inspection methods and systems, such as Geometry/Deformation, Magnetic Flux Leakage (MFL), and Ultrasonic Tools (UT) Describe the process of pipeline batching Explain best practices for pipeline batching Describe a dig sheet Explain how to identify the location of a pipeline anomaly INSTRUCTOR Dan Revelle / Manager, Pipeline Services / Quest Integrity USA, LLC Daniel (Dan) Revelle has worked with the Quest Integrity Group and its predecessor companies since 1996. He is currently the General Manager of the InVista in-line inspection group and was one of the main developers of Quest s LifeQuest Pipeline software. He has a Masters in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Colorado and extensive experience in computational mechanics. Revelle specializes in creating solutions to automate the use of inspection data in advanced engineering assessments. 2
