April Minutes approval Copy of April minutes & meeting Motion made to approve & seconded. agenda given to attendees. 3. Guest speaker Tina Gordon Discussed goals & function of NCNA as well as her responsibilities with NCNA. None at this time.

4. Delegate Application Chris discussed delegate application is not able to be pulled up from the NCENA website at this time. Guest speaker Stephanie Shaw stated that she could not find a contact phone number on the website when she was attempting to find out about a meeting 5. Fundraising Andrea discussed: Two purses donated (national & SESS) Samsung tablet (national) Cherokee basket (national & SESS 2015) Bling pins (national & SESS 2015) 50/50 (national & SESS 2015) Increase involvement with SESS (booth in exhibit hall) T-shirts for (fall conference & SESS 2015) 6. Newsletter Karen working on spring/summer newsletter 7. Propofol Chris discussed CRNA s & anesthesiologist group submitted that Roger states website is not working correctly at this time. He & Terri met with webmaster in March. Continue to have problems. Chris to follow-up with webmaster/terri regarding same. Chris to email delegate application to chapter presidents to email to their chapter. Also plan to post delegate application to NCENA facebook page. Deadline June 15 th : Email application back to Chris (he will email you back once he receives it); if mailing application, must be postmarked by June 15 th. Chris will announce by July 1 st the official delegate listing. Motion made & was seconded. Chris proposed budgeting for a booth at 2015 SESS, motion made & was seconded. Scheduled to be out mid-may. Chris to review/research and follow-up at next meeting.

Propofol/Ketamine not be administered by RN s in the ED for procedural sedation. Ryan clarified that NCBON practice act that RN s are not allowed to push or give boluses and Ketamine may be given IM only by RN s; if given IV must be given by physician. Chris to represent NCENA at a NCBON meeting regarding Propofol administration in August. Discussed NCENA representation and needing a statement & vote for Chris to represent NCENA at the meeting. Cathy Graham proposed that Chris use national ENA verbiage/position statement to NCBON meeting in August. Discussion ensued. 8. Elections National ENA elections start May, Chris encouraging everyone to vote. Motion made, passed with only one nay. Chris stated there may be an incentive to vote in national election. State elections will be starting soon. We will need nominations for President-elect, Secretary. David plans to run for Treasurer. 9. ENA Day on the Hill Scheduled for May 6 & 7. Shellie Bumgarner & Karen Hust will be attending Day on the Hill representing NCENA Karen Drum will not be running for Secretary for 2015. ENA supporting First Responder Mental Health Training.

10. Fall Conference Sarah gave Fall conference update. 10 year anniversary Our History, Our Future. Sarah asked for old pictures, information about past-presidents. Plan to reach out to local nursing schools. Pre-session TNCC/ENPC instructor class on Thursday. State meeting/dinner at Blue Water on Thursday evening. Plan to have yoga the morning of. Chris suggested that past state achievement awards be brought for display. 11. TNCC update Sarah gave TNCC update: Update at next teleconference. 47 courses (over 500 participants to date). Steve gave ENPC update: 25 courses, two instructor courses which generated two new Instructor candidates seven participated and have been monitored. 270 attendees total for the remainder of the 23 classes with 58 identified as instructor potential. 12. Awards Tabled for next meeting. Discuss awards at June meeting. 13. Next meeting June 6, 2014 @ 0730 teleconference.

14. Other Mary Lou discussed charity day sale through Belk. See Mary Lou for details. 15. Nurse Leader conference Andrea gave update: 45 people signed in. Excellent reviews from evaluations. Food was great. 16. Chapter updates: Heart of Carolina: Dr. Broselow at UNC on Thursday, May 8 th, 1930 for chapter meeting. Tentative date: March 20 th 2015 for Nurse Leader Conference. Updates at next meeting. Cardinal: September 8 th education day at Wake Med Cary. Registration opens on website. Outer Banks: CEN review class, one attendee. Promoting Older Americans Month which is May. Nightingale: process of planning symposium December 3 rd (third annual), looking for speakers & vendors. ET: October 24 th education day at Chelsea. June 3 rd is next meeting 1930 at New Bern. Dogwood: May 20 th meeting at Lougi s. September 26 th fall conference in Pinehurst.

Metrolina: chapter participates in nursing banquet on May 8 th ; Chris will be present to represent NCENA. Held at Airport Sheraton this year. May 14 th Novo Nordisk will support their meeting acquired hemophilia. Carolina Foothills: next meeting June 9 th LVAD. Blue Ridge: August 7 th Trauma Conference at Mission.
