DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES Thriving non profit healthcare organization is seeking a dynamic individual for Director of Human Resources. Rocky Mountain Health Care Services has been serving Colorado Springs for more than 40 years and currently operates 4 primary lines of business including PACE (Program Of All Inclusive Care for the Elderly), BrainCare (a continuum of care serving individuals who have experienced a brain injury), Rocky Mountain Options for Long Term Care (the single entry point for individuals applying for Medicaid services in El Paso, Park, and Teller counties) and HealthRide (coordinated transportation services for at risk populations). This position serves all lines of business. POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Human Resources is responsible for developing and maintaining clear human resources practices which comply with employment laws and regulations in a sensible and practical manner while supporting the mission and values of the organization. The Director of Human Resources provides guidance and well working policies in line with industry best practices in areas including employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations and record management. The Director of Human Resources must work to create an environment of Team Work and Trust throughout the organization. The Director of Human Resources will promote professional working relationships with all customers, vendors, outside agencies, and Company staff. This position is responsible for human resources functions for Rocky Mountain Health Care Services and all related entities. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare or related field or equivalent experience. PHR or SPHR certification preferred; required if no Bachelor s degree. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in leadership, management and supervision, in a large organization (over 150 employees); preferably in the health care industry. Experience with Lean Six Sigma methodology preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and have experience with an electronic HRIS; experience with Kronos timekeeping, payroll, and HR system preferred. Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills including the ability to manage others, lead direct reports, and work cooperatively with other departments/programs. Must possess a high level of organization skills and attention to detail. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact clearly and effectively with various types of internal and external customers. Must have the ability to deal with conflict effectively, remain calm in stressful and uncomfortable conversations, and apply company policies and procedures impartially and consistently. Must conduct self in a professional manner at all times and maintain a professional appearance that enhances the Company s reputation. Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co workers, vendors, medical staff, and the public. Must submit to and pass a pre employment drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check. Operates in full compliance with all applicable federal, state and local fire, health, safety, sanitation, emergency procedures and other standards prescribed in law or regulations. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Departmental Develop, recommend, implement and administer Company policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensure Company s compliance. Ensure fair and consistent application of Company, legal, and regulatory policies, procedures, and requirements. Champion the Human Resources Information System to ensure timely, complete, and accurate records, full utilization of system capabilities, and appropriate securities for information accessible to other departments. Represent the Company in HR legal matters such as unemployment and workers compensation claims, EEOC and other external inquiries. Oversee employee benefits administration & staff communications. Oversee annual benefit review prior to open enrollment making recommendations for benefit enhancements within budgetary guidelines. Lead the recruiting and on boarding processes to ensure fairness, consistency, and compliance with legal requirements. Direct and administer Company compensation plan. Review at least annually and present recommendations to leadership team for discussion and approval. Proactively work to improve departmental processes and procedures guided by industry best practices. Will work closely with Organizational Development on HR specific training within the Organizational Excellence training model for the Company. Champion the Lean Six Sigma Kaizen s within the HR department. Participate in the strategic planning process and implementation using the Plan to guide departmental decision making. Perform duties as workload necessitates. Communicate regularly with supervisor about Department issues and concerns. Page 2 of 4

Ensures that performance evaluations are conducted thoroughly and in a timely manner. Communicates goals and expectations clearly and effectively with direct reports.
