Summary This document details the steps to obtain the basic configuration necessary for auto provisioning your Polycom phone to the MegaPath network. Once these basic settings have been entered, the phone will automatically pull its specific configuration, which will provide the necessary information to associate your phone to your Duet Hosted service. In order to complete the configuration, you will need the server password and server user values. This information will be provided by MegaPath during the installation process. Configuration Settings Overview 1) Manually setting the configuration a) Reboot the phone (using one of the following methods: using the menu system; pulling the Ethernet PoE cable; or by unplugging the power supply). b) As phone is booting up press the Setup button while Welcome 10 seconds to autoboot" screen is displayed. c) Using the keypad enter the Polycom administrator password (by default the Polycom administrator password is 456 ) d) Navigate to the DHCP Menu and set the Boot Server to Static e) Navigate to the Server Menu and set: a. Server Type: HTTP b. Server Address: (Fill in with the below value based on your Polycom phone model) i. Polycom 301: xs.voice.dsl.net/dms/polycom301 ii. BootSrv Type: (String this is the default value) Restarting the Phone To restart the SoundPoint IP 301, 320, 321, 330, 331, 335, 430, and 450 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the keypad s 2, 4, 5, and 6 keys in combination. To restart the SoundPoint IP 501 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Up and Down Arrow keys, Delete key, and Menu key in combination. To restart the SoundPoint IP 550, 560, 600, 601, 650, and 670 phones using multiple key combinations: Press and hold the first and third Line keys, Directories key, and Applications key in combination. To restart the SoundStation IP 4000 and 6000 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the keypad s 4 and 6 keys and Soft Key 2 in combination. To restart the SoundStation IP 7000 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the keypad s 2 and 5 keys and Up and Down Arrow keys in combination. To restart the Polycom VVX 1500 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the keypad s 2, 4, and 6 key in combination. To restart the phones using the phone menu: 2. Select Settings > Basic 3. Select Restart Phone 4. When prompted to confirm the restart, select the Yes soft key Rebooting the Phone To reboot the SoundPoint IP 301 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Volume-, Volume+, Hold, and Do Not Disturb keys in combination. To reboot the SoundPoint IP 320, 321, 330, 331, and 335 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Volume-, Volume+, Hold, and Hands free keys in combination. To reboot the SoundPoint IP 430, 501 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Volume-, Volume+, Hold, and Messages keys in combination. To reboot the SoundPoint IP 450, 550, 560, 600, 601, 650, and 670 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Volume-, Volume+, Mute, and Messages keys in combination. To reboot the SoundStation IP 4000, 6000, and 7000 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the keypad s * and #, Volume+, and Select keys in combination. To reboot the Polycom VVX 1500 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Volume-, Volume+, Select, and Delete keys in combination. To reboot the phones using the phone menu: 2. Select Settings > Advanced 3. Enter the administrative password 456, and then press the Enter soft key 4. Select Reboot Phone 5. Uploading Log Files To upload the log files from the SoundPoint IP 301 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the two Line keys and the Up and Down arrow keys in combination. To upload the log files from the SoundPoint IP 320, 321, 330, 331, and 335 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Dial, Menu, and the two Line keys in combination. To upload the log files from the SoundPoint IP 430, 450, 501, 550, 560, 600, 601, 650, and 670 phones, the SoundStation IP 7000 phones, and the Polycom VVX 1500 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Up, Down, Left, and Right arrow keys in combination. To upload the log files the SoundStation IP 4000 and 6000 phones using a multiple key Press and hold the Menu, Exit, Off-hook/Hands-free, and Redial keys in combination. Reset Configuration To reset the SoundPoint IP 320, 321, 330, 331, 335, 430 and 450 phones and the SoundStation IP 7000 phones configuration to the factory defaults using a multiple key Press and hold the 1, 3, 5, and 7 dial pad keys in combination. To reset the SoundPoint IP 301, 501, 550, 600, 601, and 650 phones configuration to the factory defaults using a multiple key Press and hold the hold the 4, 6, 8, and * dial pad keys in combination. To reset the SoundStation IP 4000 and 6000 configuration to the factory defaults using a multiple key Press and hold the keypad s 6, 8, and * keys in combination. To reset the Polycom VVX 1500 phones configuration to the factory defaults using a multiple key Press and hold the keypad s 4, 6, 8 and * keys in combination. To reset the phones configuration to the factory defaults using the phone s menu: 2. Select Settings > Advanced 3. By default, this password is 456 4. Select Admin Settings > Reset to Default > Reset Local Config... 5. When prompted to confirm the reset, select the Yes soft key Resetting Device Settings To reset the phone device settings using the phone menu: 2. Select Settings > Advanced 3. Enter the administrative password, and then press the Enter soft key By default, this password is 456. 4. Select Admin Settings > Reset to Default > Reset Device Settings... 5. When prompted to confirm the reset, select the Yes soft key Formatting the File System To clear the phone memory and download the software using the phone menu: 2. Select Settings > Advanced 3. Enter the administrative password, and then press the Enter soft key. By default, this password is 456 4. Select Admin Settings > Reset to Default > Format File System... 5. When prompted to confirm the memory clear, select the Yes soft key Password Recovery The default Polycom admin password for all models is 456. Should a customer obtain a Polycom from a 3 rd party and or the Admin password is unknown then you will have to perform a password recovery procedure. To reset the SoundPoint IP 320, 321, 330, 331, 335, 430 and 450 phones and the SoundStation IP 7000 using a multiple key 1) Press and hold the 1, 3, 5, and 7 dial pad keys in combination. 2) At the password prompt enter the full MAC address of the phone. 2010 MegaPath Inc. 3) After the MAC address is entered the phone will reboot. As the phone is booting press the Setup button and re-enter all of the Polycom manual XSP configuration settings. To reset the SoundPoint IP 301, 501, 550, 600, 601, and 650 phone configuration to the factory defaults using a multiple key 1) Press and hold the hold the 4, 6, 8, and * dial pad keys in combination. 2) At the password prompt enter the full MAC address of the phone. 3) After the MAC address is entered the phone will reboot. As the phone is booting press the Setup button and re-enter all of the Polycom manual XSP configuration settings. At the password prompt enter the full MAC address of the phone. To reset the SoundStation IP 4000 and 6000 phones to the factory defaults configuration using a multiple key 1) Press and hold the hold the 4, 6, 8, and * dial pad keys in combination. 2) At the password prompt enter the full MAC address of the phone. 3) After the MAC address is entered the phone will reboot.
