New Graduate Scholarship Opportunity for Stockton s MSN Students A Different Kind of Nursing Career Consider Teaching Stockton's MSN program is participating in a collaborative with other state colleges to provide preparation for a nursing faculty role. The New Jersey Nursing Initiative Faculty Preparation program is funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and provides Stockton MSN applicants with an exciting scholarship opportunity. The New Jersey Nursing Scholars Program will only be accepting a small number of eligible candidates for two cohort classes, the first one beginning September, 2009 and the second beginning September 2010. As a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) New Jersey Nursing Scholar, you will prepare for a rewarding career teaching the next generation of nurses in the state. Support is available as you earn a master of science degree is a clinical specialty, with additional preparation in education. If you are selected for this program, you will receive a scholarship covering tuition and fees, and a $50,000 per year stipend to cover living expenses for the two years you spend as a full-time student. New Jersey Nursing Initiative Faculty Preparation Program RWJF New Jersey Nursing Scholar Terms of Agreement PARTNER SCHOOLS Kean University The College of New Jersey The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey William Paterson University of New Jersey THE NEW JERSEY NURSING INITIATIVE FACULTY PREPARATION PROGRAM The New Jersey Nursing Initiative Faculty Preparation Program is a scholarship program to earn a master in science degree in nursing in a clinical specialty with additional education to prepare the student as a full time nurse faculty member in a New Jersey based nursing program teaching pre license nursing students. Upon notification and acceptance of the award, the selected Scholar will receive a scholarship of tuition and fees for the entire program along with $50,000/year for two years to complete the requirements for graduation. In addition, the Scholar will receive a personal laptop computer as part of the scholarship. The Scholar will fulfill the terms of agreement as a RWJF New Jersey Nursing Scholar participating in the New Jersey Nursing Initiative Faculty Preparation Program: 1. Enroll and matriculate in a full time progression of courses in an advanced clinical program each semester. 2. Maintain a GPA of 3.0 (B grade). 3. Participate in curriculum acculturation/socialization activities as planned by the New Jersey Nursing Initiative Faculty Preparation Program with your assigned faculty member. 4. Participate in evaluation activities as requested. 5. Upon graduation, be employed as a full time nurse faculty member for three years in New Jersey.
