Johnson Controls Marine solutions and products are tailored and optimized for each specific application and are based on the actual operating scenarios and energy monitoring/audits. In addition advanced waste heat recovery solutions further reduce fuel consumption on the newest ship platforms. New centrifugal chiller technology enables energy cost savings up to 30% compared to the solutions used only a decade ago. When choosing air handling unit (AHU) with enthalpy wheel technology it will be possible to save about 50% of the energy in the AC system compared to the conventional mixing chamber type. In both examples the added benefit is reduction of the CO2 emissions and improved environmental image for the ship-owner.
