Remediation Weekly Activity Summary Report Ameren LaSalle Former MGP - Soil Removal Action Page 1 Period: June 16 - June 22, 2014 (Week 40) PSC Project Number Completed By: Jeff Adams 624-1202-0012 General Remediation Activities Completed: PSC continued active onsite remediation activities, including backfilling of the Phase 4 excavation. The sketch on Page 2 shows the extent of the excavation and completed backfilling activities. A total of 3,561.82 tons of Construction Debris (0 tons this week) and 23,881.09 tons of Non-Source Material (0 tons this week) were removed and hauled to Republic Services-Ottowa, Illinois Landfill. A total of 3,768.71 tons of clay (3,478.71 tons this week) and 23,202.36 tons of rock (lime screenings, one-inch minus, and two to three-inch clean rock; 0 tons this week) have been hauled onsite to use as backfill material. In addition, 471.90 tons of clean one-inch stone (0 tons this week) have been brought in to address the haul roads and parking areas. Approximately 4,000 gallons of water removed from the excavation are currently containerized, while approximately 149,000 gallons (9,000 this week) have been hauled offsite for disposal. Monday - June 16th: Continue backfilling and compaction of the Phase 4 excavation with clay soil from LandComp Landfill, and continue breaking concrete slabs along the canal berm. Performed two lifts today (Lifts 3 & 4); compaction tests were performed by Midwest Testing Services, Inc. (Midwest). Approximately 9,000 gallons (2 truck loads) of impacted water were removed from frac tanks for disposal to PDC in Clinton, IL. Approximately 1,000 gallons of impacted water were pumped from the Phase 5 excavation into frac tanks. QLF hauled out one load (~5,000 gallons) of ammonia-impacted water from the basement for offsite disposal. Ed B. and Mike F. of PSC visit backfill source to inspect & verify its viability. PSC worked with Midwest to get the EDG and Proctor calibrated to the new backfill material. Tuesday - June 17th: Continue backfilling and compaction of the Phase 4 excavation with clay soil from LandComp Landfill, and continue breaking concrete slabs along the canal berm. Performed one lift today (Lift #5); compaction tests were performed by Midwest Testing Services, Inc. (Midwest). QLF hauled out one load (~5,000 gallons) of ammonia-impacted water from the basement for offsite disposal. Two lined roll-off dumpsters were delivered to the Site for disposal of stockpiled ACM pipes. Began adding water to backfill soil upon dumping to increase the moisture content. Wednesday - June 18th: Continue backfilling and compaction of the Phase 4 excavation with clay soil from LandComp Landfill, and continue breaking concrete slabs along the canal berm. Performed two lifts today (Lifts 6 & 7); compaction tests were performed by Midwest Testing Services, Inc. (Midwest). Approximately 1,000 gallons of impacted water were pumped from the Phase 5 excavation into frac tanks. QLF hauled out two loads (~10,000 gallons) of ammonia-impacted water from the basement for offsite disposal. Two roll-off dumpsters were delivered to the Site for disposal of ACM pipes. Thursday - June 19th: Continue backfilling and compaction of the Phase 4 excavation with clay soil from LandComp Landfill, and continue breaking concrete slabs along the canal berm. Performed one lift today (Lift #8); compaction tests were performed by Midwest Testing Services, Inc. (Midwest). QLF hauled out two loads (~10,000 gallons) of ammonia-impacted water from the basement for offsite disposal. Spray Services personnel (2) on Site to oversee the loading of ACM piping into roll-offs for disposal. Ameren personnel (Brian Martin, Warren Mueller, and Bud Chamblin) on Site for visit. Friday - June 20th: Continue backfilling and compaction of the Phase 4 excavation with clay soil from LandComp Landfill, and continue breaking concrete slabs along the canal berm. Performed two lifts today (Lifts 9 & 10); compaction tests were performed by Midwest Testing Services, Inc. (Midwest). QLF hauled out two loads (~10,000 gallons) of ammonia-impacted water from the basement for offsite disposal. Republic Services truck picked up the roll-offs containing the ACM piping for transport and disposal. Saturday - June 21st: No site work performed. Health & Safety Activities: Weather Conditions: H&S Issues/Other: Mostly sunny and warm with periods of rain and thunderstorms and high temperatures in the 80s and 90s.
