CARVER COUNTY FIBER MAPPING USER GUIDE GETTING AROUND When you open the application, you have the option to search for a specific fiber project address, fiber segment, city, or address. When you go to the map, you will have to navigate using the directions below in the Additional Navigation section. Zoom to Project Address: Zooms to specific fiber project address. This is the destination for fiber segments. Zoom to Segment: Zooms to a specific fiber segment. Each segment is defined by a From location and a To location. Zoom to City View: Zooms to Carver County Cities and Townships Address Search: Enter a building number, then click the dropdown at right and select the appropriate road. Click Accept. If, after you have manually closed the search screen (using the the search by clicking the Search ( button), you can re-open ) button on the toolbar at upper right. GETTING INFORMATION You can get information about a property or a segment in one of two ways. First, use the search methods described above. Second, single click on a property or segment. After you click on the map or zoom to a property or segment, using the above search methods, an Identify window will pop up. The information will be different, depending on which method you searched. Identifying a Project Address will give you the ability to view a Bird s Eye Shot of the property (See below) and Trace Segments Back to Backbone :
When you trace segments back to the backbone, a highlighted line appears to show the segments that will return you to the fiber backbone (red). You can also click to zoom to individual segments leading back to the backbone. TOOLBAR Street View: Traditional map view Aerial View: Aerial Photography view Bordering: Roads and cities outside of Carver County Globe: Zooms out to the extent of Carver County. Property Report: The Property Report tool will activate when you zoom into the map far enough for properties to display. When you turn on the Property Report tool, the mouse cursor will turn to a crosshair. Click on the property you would like to view taxpayer information for. A new window will launch showing the property report (be patient as this may take a few moments. Pop-up blockers must be disabled.). Bird s Eye: When you activate the Bird s Eye tool, the cursor will turn to a crosshair. With the crosshair, click on the map in the area you would like to view. Please be patient as it may take a few moments for the map to load. Also, pop-up blockers must be turned off. Re-click the tool to go back to map browsing. Search: Search dialog
Measure: Click the map for distance calculations. Double click the map to stop measuring. PRINTING Printing is only currently available using your computers Print Screen. Click and hold the Alt button, and while holding, click the Print Screen button
