SYNOPSIS "mudanzas A journey through time that reflects the evolution of the Bolero School of Dance BOLERAS" is a journey in time. It is a show full of rhythm which leads us to discover the essence of the Bolero School of Dance. It invites us to enjoy the music and intricate choreographies of a lesser known important Spanish dance form. This is a lively, colourful performance which helps us understand the links with the influence of the French academic school. Escuela Bolera is especially known for its varied and intricate dance steps, graceful Spanish arm movements and the unique ability of the simultaneous playing of castanets. The show "mudanzas BOLERAS" reflects the evolution of this style of dance, referring to significant dates in the history of dance, and Spanish public life: 1812, 1912 and 2012. It reminds us of the first performances in the theatres of Cadiz, the birth of the dance known as La Cachucha, and the structure of the Bolero dance. Most of the repertoire is based on the interpretation of the Pericet family and they have been known for the development of this genre to this day. Spaniards are known for their great creativity ranging between jest and earnest. The show reflects the French siege of Cadiz in 1812 and of the those unforgettable characters who have left a legacy in this dance form. Images of La Campanera and Gustave Dore are staged, and most important, this vibrant form of dance is brought to life once again while preserving the essence: the passion for dance. 02
