San Francisco State University Michael Bar ECON 102 Fall 2014 Instructions Study Guide for Final Exam, ECON 102-02 1. The final exam is on Tuesday, December 16, starting at 10:45 12:45, in class. The exact time of the test will be indicated on the exam forms. 2. You must bring your student ID in order to be able to take the final exam. My assistants and I will check students ID during the test. 3. Scantrons and Bluebooks will not be used. 4. The format of the exam will be similar to the format of the sample finals posted on the course webpage. 5. This is closed book, closed notes exam. 6. No calculators or electronic devices of any kind are allowed. 7. Show all the calculations. 8. If you need more space, use the back of the page. 9. Use a ruler to draw neat graphs. 10. Fully label all graphs. 11. The last page contains a few formulas. 12. In any case of discrepancy between definitions I gave and the textbook, you are required to follow my definitions. 1

General guidelines 13. This model was used to illustrate how competitive markets work: how prices of goods and quantity traded are determined, and what causes prices to change. GDP and the Standard of Living (Ch. 6) In this chapter we learned how to measure the economy s output - nominal GDP, and how to adjust it for inflation, which gave us the Real GDP. The Price Level and Inflation (Ch. 8) In this chapter we learned how to measure consumer prices and cost of living. The most important question in economics is Why are some countries poor, while others are rich?. We presented the kind of economic conditions that promote growth.
