Volunteer Roles & Position Descriptions All volunteers must abide by their Volunteer Agreements while carrying out work activities for Maitland Community Care Services Inc. All volunteers are responsible for informing the office using the correct reporting procedures, of any observed risk in any area where service provision is occurring. This may include but is not limited to: in vehicle, at client s premises, at destinations as well as on or around the organisation s premises or vehicles. All volunteers are responsible for accurately receipting and recording kilometres travelled, time spent and money collected as per organisational procedures. All information is presented to the office at close of day or by Friday of each week. Volunteer Car Driver MCCS Project Vehicle Reporting to: Transport Team Leader Time Commitment: Normally whole day (8am 4pm) some half days Description of Role: Provide safe and courteous transport for clients including assistance from home to car and car to destination when/if required. Volunteer Social Visitor Reporting to: Area Coordinators Time Commitment: Ranges from 1 hour 3 hours Description of Role: Visiting clients in their own home or at an agreed location in order to provide companionship and social interaction on a regular basis. Volunteer Minor Garden Maintenance Reporting to: Area Coordinators Time Commitment: Ranges from 2 hours 4 hours Description of Role: Carrying out minor garden maintenance you by the office which may include the following: small shrubs; This role is for small tasks only, not a large garden clean up. If the garden requires a high level of assistance please refer them to the office for assessment for contractor assistance. All waste remains the responsibility of the resident for removal. Volunteer Bus Assistant Weekday General Services Reporting to: Transport Team Leader Time Commitment: Normally whole day (8am 4pm) or some half days Description of Role: Providing support for passengers using the community transport buses by accompanying them from home to bus and bus to destination, assisting with seat belts and other safety equipment, and monitoring clients during transport. Work in accordance with the Safe Operating Procedures for Bus Assistants and follow direction from the driver Assist with the care and safety of the passengers on the bus and ensure that they are not left alone in the vehicle at any time; passengers by traveling in the rear of the vehicle where possible ation and returning to their home, if required Most consumers are on direct debit or payment agreements if required to collect fares from passengers, record accurately and provide a receipt mobile phone are collected from the office before departure; messages accurately to the driver while vehicle is in motion; Page 6 of 9

Volunteer Bus Assistant Social Outings Reporting to: Transport Team Leader Time Commitment: Normally whole day (8am 4pm) Description of Role: Providing support for passengers using the community transport bus to attend a social outing by accompanying them from home to bus and bus to destination, assisting with seat belts and other safety equipment, and monitoring clients during transport as well as assisting with meals, drinks and other activities. Volunteer Bus Assistants for General Services and Social Outings are not responsible for carrying out the following tasks: driver; supervision of the driver; Volunteer Meals Assistance/Packing Reporting to: MOW Support worker Time Commitment: 8.00-11/11.30am Description of Role: Assisting staff with Meals on Wheels duties, packing eskies, washing up, cleaning and general duties related to preparation of meals for delivery. Follow the daily task allocation passed on by MOW Support worker during daily volunteer brief which may include: l aspects of Food Safety and WHS regulations as explained to you by staff members Volunteer Meal Delivery Driver Reporting to: MOW Support worker Time Commitment: Approx. 2 hours (8.30am 10.30am) Description of Role: Driving your own vehicle to safely deliver meals to clients in their own homes.
