Fellows Duties / Responsibilities Teaching fellows are required to commit to 1-year Teaching Fellowship including 2-months summer training and 10- month teaching placement in our local partner schools with underprivileged students from July 2017 to June 2018. To well prepare fellows for the challenges, fellows have to complete the 2-month summer training before you start the teaching placement. During your school placement, you have 3 main responsibilities: i. Conduct classroom teaching ii. Coach students for career & life planning with Teach4HK s business partners iii. Lead diversified learning projects Minimum Requirements: Bachelor s degree in any discipline Flexibility to work in any of our schools Our Ideal Fellow: Our ideal fellows should displace the following competencies: Humility, respect and empathy Leadership Interaction Planning and organizing Knowledge Problem solving Resilience Self-evaluation Global Exposure Humility, Respect, and Empathy As a Teach4HK fellow you will be working with a variety of stakeholders from students to parents, teachers to peers. Interaction Communicating clearly whilst listening and responding appropriately is very important. As a fellow you will need to adapt your style in different situations and contribute as a great team player. Knowledge You will need to show passion for Teach4HK, our vision and mission, as well as understanding and enthusiasm for the Fellowship Program. Leadership You will need to be proactive and make decisions on a daily basis as you strive to achieve above and beyond expectations. Taking the lead will be crucial for success. Planning and Organizing As a Teach4HK fellow you will need to manage daily responsibilities and juggle your priorities. You will need to work efficiently and effectively to meet deadlines and deliver successfully. Problem Solving Every day you will face new challenges and will have to come up with considered, effective and appropriate solutions in response. Whilst drawing on resources and logic you will also need to use creativity and innovation to be successful. Resilience You will need to be hungry for a challenge, using patience and endless energy to persevere through the difficult times. When faced with obstacles you will need to be tenacious and versatile and maintain a positive mindset. Self-Awareness Personal development is vital for long term success. You will need to be aware of your performance, your strengths and your weaknesses and will need to be realistic in what and how you can do better. Global Exposure Underprivileged students lack exposures to outside world and through sharing of your international experiences, you can create a long lasting impact to students learning.
