Introduction History The Lung Cancer database was created in 2002 to record clinical information on approximately 1400 Grampian patients investigated for lung cancer during the period April 2000 to March 2002. Pathological data for these patients was downloaded from the APEX laboratory computer together with basic patient identification. Additional clinical and epidemiological information was extracted from the hospital notes for the patients and entered into the Lung Cancer database via customised data entry screens. Overview of Database Lung cancer data is held in an Access database located on a confidential server on the University network. Information on approximately 1400 patients is held on the research database across 11 record types which are detailed in the Main Table Definitions Section. Page 3
