HEALTH AND SAFETY STATEMENT Nichols Environmental considers the safety and well-being of our employees a core value of the company. Workplace hazard assessments and controls are included in every project and no on-site work can be undertaken until all safety requirements are satisfied. As a commitment to Health and Safety, Nichols Environmental undertook an extensive safety evaluation of all field operations, including preparation of all necessary materials and procedures to achieve its Large Employer Certificate of Recognition from Alberta Labour in 2004. ISNetworld recognizes Nichols Environmental as a registered contractor. Staff continually upgrade their safety training, including courses on TDG, WHMIS, First Aid, Ground Disturbance (Level II), defensive driving and, for key personnel working in the upstream oil and gas industry, H 2 S Alive and OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER. Nichols Environmental employees will work in a cooperative spirit with all clients and subcontractors to ensure the safety of all worksite personnel. All Nichols Environmental and subcontractor employees must be made aware of the hazard assessment prior to commencing any site project work. Unsafe conditions will be reported to the Nichols Environmental Project Manager as soon as possible. All workplace injuries or near-miss incidents will be investigated immediately by Nichols Environmental Project Manager and Safety Coordinator. Our safety objective for every project is to complete the work using safe procedures and behaviors, resulting in zero injuries or near-miss incidents. Through our commitment of all staff and management our incident rate is ZERO, with no lost time incidents or injuries since 2001.
