How Are Video Games Made? By Mitchell A video game is a visual imagination of an artist. A video game is a cyberspace world of digital film. It combines of the artistics of a great story such as action, adventure, danger and lots of others. Details can make the story move forward. For example, if a twig snaps in the woods there might be danger and it pushes the story ahead. Video games are made in several steps. Game design documents are very important because it has everything from the story to the characters in that document. Backdrops are very important in the game because it tells where the character is. The backdrop explains a lot, like maybe where the characters live. The creator can also add special effects to the environment or the backdrop. Sometimes artists draw or sketch the characters on paper then scan them into the computer. All games begin with a story, and some stories come from the game designer themselves. The artist makes a rough draft of the characters first and then the artist keeps making the character until its

perfect. First, the characters are scanned into a computer then a digital exoskeleton is created so the character can walk, move and so the character can use controls to control the character. One of the most important parts of todays games is the environment. Creating characters is an important part of the storyboard process. A game maker has to make sure the characters are realistic. Along with the storyboard the game maker will also want to make a file that tells what every aspect of the game is. A game maker must make sure the characters are interesting. While a film has one storyline a game has thousands of outcomes. Once the characters sketch is finished its time to transform the sketches into controllable 3D. Layers of skin are added to the character followed by color and texture. The majority of computer gaming 3D objects is made of polygons. Knowledge of computer coding, how to read code, and how to write code is a very helpful skill in making video games. writing code from scratch will usually result in better gaming and graphics. Code and software is like a cake one made from scratch the other made premixed in a box. Video game makers that know how to use code have an opportunity to make very vivid game worlds. The engine is what makes

the game run. This code will make the billions of instant calculations needed to make a characters do all actions needed. Video game makers use several types of codes to create their games. The game programmers make the characters come to life by instructing the computer to move the character. Motions of a human actor are captured using a special suit of sensors to represent the control points of the character s skeleton. Each polygon has a set of vertices to define its shape, and it needs information that tells it what to look like. Code is like a manual or instructions that tells the game what to do. Most creative, fun games are created with custom codes. Another important aspect of code is the artificial intelligence component.this is the logic of the game, and it also establishes everything about the game world. Software for making video games are usually three categories: 3D games, 2D games and role playing games. Game Maker software to make a game allows you to create a 3D game. The software also can help people learn higher coding functions by showing the code that is created by simple drag and drop. Game Editor is a 2D game design

software where you can create games for personal computers or mobile phones using this program. Once all of the major flaws are out, a "beta" (witch is a testing game to test) version is released, often to a larger group of testers that sometimes includes the public. Once the game is done, it enters the postproduction phase. The postproduction phase includes extensive testing, review, marketing and finally, distribution. The job of the testers is to play the game for a very long time to find all the mistakes in the game. a copy of the game is sent to the Entertainment Software Rating Board to be given a rating. These ratings are intended to give consumers an idea of the content of the game and its appropriateness for different age groups. Video games take a lot of work and steps. All the people that participate and work so hard on the games you play at home today.
