Importance and Scope In today s world, the advances in digital communications and storage technologies have brought major changes for consumers. Security threats are a significant problem for information technology based organization. The security based Internet applications are widely used to mitigate cyber vulnerabilities both in commercial life and industry enterprises. The purpose of this workshops is to raise awareness on Information and Cyber Security among students, academicians and industry professionals. In this workshop, experts from academia will share their knowledge to the participants who are interested to build a career in broad area of information and cyber security. About ISM Dhanbad Indian School of Mines, a fully residential university is situated in Jharkhand state, India and it was established in 1926 on the model of Royal School of Mines, London. Apart from earth and mineral science departments of national and international reputation, the institute has expanded with diverse branches in engineering including Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and also in Master of Business Administration. About Department The Department of Computer Science and Engineering was established in the year 1997 to keep abreast with the recent technological advancements in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology. The Department has presently 17 faculty members with various teaching and research expertise in the field of Computer Science. The department offers two under graduate courses namely B. Tech in CSE and Dual Degree in CSE. The admission of these two courses is through IIT-JEE (Advanced). The department also offers two M. Tech course in CSE and CSE with Specialization in Information Security. The admission of M.Tech is through GATE. The department offers Ph.D in CSE and presently more than 75
full time scholars are working in various research topics. The department runs several sponsored projects from the government organizations like CSIR, MIT and UGC. The School is located at a distance of about 3 KMs from Dhanbad Railway Station in Jharkhand State. Dhanbad station is on grand chord of Eastern Railways and well connected with Howrah, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Mumbai, Tata Nagar and Ranchi etc. Registration Fee Rs. 1000/- for Faculty members, person from Industries, Research Scholars, Scientists and PG students. Note: The course fee does not include charges for accommodation. Accommodation Limited shared accommodation is available at EDC in ISM on payment basis.
