Lang Ignazio Loi Graduated in 1970 as a DDS (Bern) and holds an MS in Periodontology (Ann Arbor), a PhD (Bern), a Dr. Odont. h.c. (Athen, Buenos Aires), a Dr. Odont. h.c. (Gothenburg), and the Hon FRACDS (Glasgow). Prof. Lang has 30 years clinical experience in Swiss private practices and he has taught for more than 40 years. More than 20 international societies and universities awarded him and he is a distinguished member of over 25 international societies, among those the International Team of Implantology (ITI) and the Dental Association of Hong Kong. With his main interests covering implant dentistry, periodontology, research in etiology and pathogenesis of peri-implant infections, risk evaluation, wound healing and oral microbiology, Prof. Lang is also Editor in Chief of Clinical Oral Implants Research and Associate Editor of the Journal of Investigative and Clinical Research as well as of Oral Health and Preventive Dentistry. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery and specialized in Dentistry and Dental Prosthesis at the University of Cagliari. Active member at the Italian Academy of Prosthodontics (AIOP). Honorary Member of A.I.S.G. (Advanced Implantology Study Group). Adjunct Professor at Pisa University. His private clinic is in Cagliari. Author of several papers and co-author of the book Peri-implant tissue remodeling: scientific background & clinical implications, co-author of the following chapter in the book Immediate loading: Sistematic approach to immediate loading on the front arch.
