2 Advanced Training Workshop October 8 10, 2015 The Advanced Training Workshop on is an interactive course, powered by focused hands-on training, video demonstrations and 3D live surgery. It aims at clinicians wishing to upgrade their skills in the application of periodontal regenerative surgery. The course consists of an integrated approach designed to build and extend the skills of the practicing periodontist in the area of contemporary periodontal regenerative surgery, microsurgery and minimally invasive surgery. The material will be covered with lectures, practical exercises on simulators, case discussions, treatment planning exercises and 3D live video demonstrations. This intensive 3 days course focuses on 3 main objectives: 1. the acquisition of state of the art knowledge and competence 2. the acquisition of the practical skills and 3. the ability to apply them on the solution of practical clinical cases.

Cause-related therapy and soft-tissue preservation, recipe for a good start 2. Importance, assessment and management of patient and defect factors 3. Clinical objectives, indications, limits and prognosis of periodontal regeneration 4. regeneration in the global treatment plan: timing and interactions 5. Generating a 3D clinical and radiological assessment of intrabony defect morphology 6. Critical evaluation of periodontal regenerative materials 7. Surgical instruments and materials 8. Tissue handling and suturing techniques 9. Papilla preservation flaps 10. Microsurgery 11. Minimally invasive surgery 12. Flap designs for multiple defects 13. 5 Day 3 9:00-14:00 Saturday, October 10 Acquisition of the Practical Skills Hands-on surgical exercises on anatomical simulators 1. Hands on in depth tutorial on surgical methods a. Modified papilla preservation flaps b. Simplified papilla preservation flaps c. Minimally invasive surgical techniques d. Single and multilayer internal mattress sutures e. Application of regenerative materials. 2. Discussion and conclusion of the course. Exercises will be performed on specifically designed silicone models with step by step supervision by the speakers.
