Registration for the 2017/2018 School Year Welcome to HEA Preschool! The staff at HEA Preschool is proud to offer children a warm and welcoming educational environment rich in Jewish values and traditions. A positive early childhood educational environment has an enormous impact on the linguistic, conceptual, and spiritual growth of children, especially on the development of social competence. HEA is proud to be a place where children and families grow and thrive. We offer preschool programs for children 15 months through prekindergarten. We are pleased to offer a variety of schedule options to best suit your needs with hours ranging from 7:45 am to 6:00 pm and flexible days as needed. This year s registration process will start January 25th for synagogue members and families currently enrolled in the preschool. Open enrollment for all interested parties will begin January 31st. School begins August 21, 2017. For your convenience registration forms, program information, and tuition rates are available on our website at www.headenver.org, in the preschool office, as well as placed outside of each classroom for currently enrolled families. Registration will be offered on a first come first serve basis. Registration forms will not be accepted prior to the dates listed above. Space is limited and registration fees will rise, with no exceptions, on March 1, 2017. This is necessary to ensure proper staffing for the coming school year. HEA and JEWISHColorado are pleased to offer a limited number of tuition scholarships based on financial need. All applications for financial assistance are completed online through FACTS Tuition Aid at: online.factsmgt.com and must be completed no later than April 12, 2017. We also accept CCCAP. For additional information concerning the scholarship application process or fall tuition payment options please do not hesitate to contact Stacy Wasserman. If you have any questions about enrollment, please feel free to contact the HEA Preschool Office at 303-758-1462 or email us at swasserman@headenver.org or jlambert@headenver.org. We are looking forward to working with you and your children.

Parent/Tot Playdate Thursdays 9:30-10:30 Open to the community. This class is designed for Parent/caregiver and infants/toddlers to participate together with Dani Wynn, an experienced facilitator, in activities that will enrich and enhance socialization, build gross motor skills and promote language development. This class offers families with young children the opportunity to connect, share and have a fun play-based experience in a nurturing preschool environment. A take and bake challah is sent home weekly. $60/month Toddlers (15 months old and walking by October 1, 2017 Born before 7/1/16) Separation from parents and developing a sense of autonomy and independence is the focus of this age-group since this class may be your child s first group experience without his/her parents. Creating a partnership between families and staff, the teachers will work to support and gain your child s trust as they transition from home to school. Provocations are set up daily to invite sensory exploration. This play-based class provides a fun and exciting first time experience for young children. Twos (2 years old by October 1, 2017 Born before 10/1/15) "Terrific Twos" is a time when children are expanding their world. We strive to support this ever expanding development by providing a safe, warm, nurturing environment that is rich in learning opportunities. Learning to be a member of a community is an important social skill for two year olds. During this year, learning and development occurs in a hands-on format in the classroom. The children use sensory materials and experiences to gain knowledge about their environment. Among the tools of play in the classrooms are water, play dough, books, puzzles, blocks, manipulative toys, dramatic play props, natural science provocations, paint, paper, and markers. Stories, music and movement are regular activities and are incorporated into the celebration of Jewish holidays. Threes (3 yrs old by October 1, 2017 Born before 10/1/14) Our 3 to 4 years old classrooms reflect the interests and developmental abilities of the age group. Due to the children s increasing attention span, more refined motor skills and greater problem solving skills are an area of focus. We also begin to focus on reinforcing group skills and the development of expressive language through hands-on experiences. The classrooms are organized with provocations set up by teachers and children in message centers, block construction areas, home centers, manipulative toys, natural science materials, varied studio art tools and supplies, and books. Giving the children access to many different materials allows them to learn as resourceful individuals with a natural sense of curiosity. They move freely through the classroom, often spending some of that time working with a teacher either individually or in a small group to facilitate specific learning goals and ideas. Pre-Kindergarten (4 yrs old by October 1, 2017 Born before 10/1/13) Our program infuses number sense, literacy, science, cognitive development, fine motor, and self-help skills into natural exploration opportunities which prepare the children for their transition to kindergarten. As children are 4 and 5, their investigations and explorations take on greater depth. They become more analytical in their thinking and are able to express their learning in a representational manner. Ideas and concepts often span over several weeks, depending on the interests and explorations of the group. Children often explore an area of the curriculum in small groups, allowing for a deep understanding of the subject matter, as well as lots of individual attention. Our Jewish traditions, values, and concepts are seamlessly woven through everyday activities as well as a special Shabbat celebrations on Fridays and Havdallah on Mondays. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse community of 21 st Century learners. Afternoon Enrichment (12:30-3:00p.m.) Join our preschool for a fun-filled afternoon adventure! Our afternoon enrichment programs include dance, kitchen science, soccer, music and yoga. Early Bird and Late Care With the demanding schedules we all have this option may be just what you are looking for. We offer Early Bird Care 7:45-9:00am and Late Care 3:00-6:00pm child care services Monday through Friday. This flexible service allows you to choose one to five days per week each month to have your child stay.
