REBECA MONGE MARTÍNEZ PRÁCTICA 2/SEMINARIO 3 2º EDUCACIÓN INFANTIL 1. The battle of Newton Road 1. Who are they? - Sally Robson lives in Newton road is an English town. She is a teacher. - Mr Wood is a civil engineer - Slephen and Catherine are two sally Robson s pupils 2. How did they make you feel? -This book made me feel good because it shows a society which for rights: justice Sally Robson is a teacher at Newton road school. Mr Wood is a civil engineer that went Newton road to build a new road with new houses. Sally and their pupils didn t want these houses; the new houses were all far away, friends and neighbours were important. The families that live in this road didn t have any water, gas and electricity. At the end of story the neighbours had new houses, the road had a school. Sally can stay with her friends and she can be teacher in this school. Mr Wood and sally were friends. 4. What was your favourite part? Why? My favourite part in this story is when everybody is happy with their new houses and new school. 5. Did you learn anything? I have learned that everybody has to fight why they consider fair.

6. Recommend? Why or why not? I recommend this story because it is easy to read and it is funny and interesting. 2. My wobbly tooth must not ever never fall out - Lola is a child. She has a problem with her tooth. She is afraid not to keep completely all her teeth. - Lota: is her friend whose tooth fell down fairy gives a coin and she buys a chichen - Fairy: is a special person that gives coins to children whose teeth fall down 2. How did they make you feel? This story makes me remember when I was a child and my teeth fell down. I was happy when Perez mouse gave me presents. Lola s tooth moves, she is afraid her tooth fall down. One day her friend Lotta goes her house. Lotta s tooth falls down and fairy gives a coin. Lotta with a coin buys a chicken. Lola doesn t know when a tooth falls down fairy gives a present. When Lola s tooth falls down Lola put it under the pillow. Lola sees that tooth isn t here. Lola cries because she doesn t find it. Lola s mother says that she isn t worries she dreams happy dreams and she laughs then fairy will see the gap in her teeth. She will give a present; the fairy puts a coin under pillow. Lola buys a giraffe with a coin. 4. Did you like the book? Were there any funny? It is funny, I like this book because is truth that the children are afraid when the teeth move and they haven t got teeth. It is amusing. 5. What was your favourite part?

My favourite part is when Lola didn t find the tooth and her mother cheered and she said that the fairy gave a coin because she would see a hole the tooth and Lola left happy to bed. There are funny bits when Lola saw a coin under pillow and she bought a giraffe. 6. Did you learn anything? I have learned that you have to do happy to the children and left them to imagine and they have got new experience. 7. Recommend? Why or why not? I recommend this book; I think this book is interesting and funny. This book can like the children 3. Lost in Piper s Park - Granny and grandpa: are the grandfather and grandmother of Tom and Kate. They are very nice, pleasant, kind. They love grandchildren. They are very happy to spend some days with their family. -Tom and kate: are main characters of story. They are siblings and they love and help each. They are very helpful and they help their mother to be ready when grandparents back a home. - Sam is the dog: It is the pet of family. It is very good and plays with Tom and Kate. The father: he goes off in the car with their sons to meet father in law and mother in law. -Mother: is a tidy woman, she likes the clean things. 2. How did they make you feel? They made me feel good because they showed a typical family.

Tom and Kate went to the park with their family. They were spending a good day. The Granny hurt with a stone: the first Aid man cared the Granny s foot. In this moment Tom got lost because he had followed the clowns. The clown on a wheel helped the boy. 4. Did you like the book? The book is entertainment, it s for children, and it is an adventure book. 5. What was your favourite part? My favourite part is when the clowns help to find Tom s family. The clown teaches tom and Kate how to ride up the wheel. On the one hand the book has got different messages: I have learned to help people they need it and other hand it s important to ask for helping if children lose. 6. Recommend? Why or why not? I recommend this story because it is easy to read and it is funny. The story is very simple but the message is clear: you can always learn new things. 4. Mike s Lucky Day - Mike: he always gets a summer job. He is falling in love Jennifer. - Bill is shop assistant - Jennifer is Morgan s daughter. She works in Morgan s store. 2. What happens? Mike is a delivery man. He and Bill go Morgan s store every Monday. Mike walks across the store with three boxes in his arm. He can t see a big pile of cans of the counter. He threw the cans to the floor. He sees a pretty woman. He gives to arrange a date with her. He has a lot of problems, he hasn t got any money to pay for the bus ticket and he hasn t the keys. He gets on and he comes into through to window. He has to tell with policeman. Jenny is angry with him. He sends a letter to Jenny and she accepts. They talk and they are happy.

4. Did you like the book? I don t like the book it is boring, little entertainment, it isn t funny and it isn t very interesting; I don t learnt anything. 5. Recommend? Why or why not? I don t recommend it due to the previous fact. 5. Kate and the crocodile -Tom and kate: are main characters of story. They are siblings and they love and help each. They are very helpful and they help their mother to be ready when grandparents back a home. - Sam is the dog: It is the pet of family. It is very good and plays with Tom and Kate. 2. What happens? On day, when mother, Kate and Tom go to school, saw a picture with a big crocodile and other animals. Kate likes crocodiles. This day Kate plays with Saki with the toys. They use some crocodiles. They put it in the water, pools and in the land. After they read a lot of books, and they do other activities. The teacher ordered them to do a mural of crocodiles and they put on the wall. After they can hop like rabbits. Finally the teacher read the book about crocodile. Tom and Kate go back at home very happy. They have a good time. 3. Did you learn anything? I have learned vocabulary and expression. And the children can know a lot of things playing and they can play while they learn. 4. Did you like the book? What was your favourite part?

I like this book, my favourite part is when Kate is playing with her friend with her crocodile and they use water and land. 5. Recommend? Why or why not? I recommend this book because it is funny and simple 6. The big secret -Tom and kate: are main characters of story. They are siblings and they love and help each. They are very helpful and they help their mother to be ready when grandparents back a home. - Sam is the dog: It is the pet of family. It is very good and plays with Tom and Kate. 2. How did they make you feel? The book I made feel very well because is very nice how the children and dad made a man s a surprise party and they invited man s friends. Dad and his children make a surprise party mum s birthday. Dad, Tom and Kate go to the shopping. They look for a present. Tom and Kate buy a blue vase and yellow flowers, and dad buys a ring. They write the invitations and write all the names on them. The next day they make a big cake. On Saturday mum, Kate and Tom take Sam for a walk while father prepares the surprise party. At 4 o clock they go back home. At home there are a lot of people, mum is very surprised and very pleased too see everyone. Mum likes the presents. Mum tells them that it was the best party that she had ever had. 4. Did you like the book? What was your favourite part? This book I like, my favourite part is when the mum goes back at home and everybody Is here. She is very pleased and happy. I learn that you have to make happy people that you love.

6. Recommend? Why or why not? I recommend this book because is entertainment, interesting, shot, it is easy to read. 7. The robbery - Kate had found the police car. Kate, Tom and man phoned police, they saw the car bank robbers. - Tom had got the car number of bank robbers. - Policeman helps to find the robbers bank. -Mrs Davis: the woman who had been hurt by bank robbers. 2. What was your favourite part? How did they make you feel? My favourite part in the book Is when Tom and Kate help to police to find the bank robbers. The manager gave them two boxes Tom had the green box and Kate had the blue box to give thanks for helping them. I feel OK with this story it makes me think about the need of help police as a good citizen. Tom and mum were buying the Christmas presents. Tom was waiting for his mother and his sister when he saw two men who were robbing, Tom saw the car number of bank robbers. All the member of the family helps to solve the case. 4. Did you learn anything? I have learned that it is necessary to help people when they have problems. If you are witness you must collaborate with police. 5. Recommend? Why or why not?

I recommend this story because it is funny and easy to read. You can learn interesting topics and use in your daily life. 8. Marcel and the Shakespeare Letters - Marcel: is a French mouse. He s a detective and he lives in Paris. Every autumn he visits an old friend in London. - Henry: is a Marcel s friend. - Professor Barton: teaches English at London University. 2. Did you learn anything? I have learned expressions, phrasal verbs. The thieves aren t sometimes lucky. There are fireworks in London on 5 th November Guy Fawkes Day when Marcel goes to stay with his friend, Henry. Henry lives next door to a professor Barton who owns some Shakespeare s letters. When Marcel and Henry go to look at them, they aren t there. A woman has stolen them. Marcel and Henry go at Heathrow Airport. The woman is here. Marcel cuts a hole in the girl s bag and then he climbs into the bag. He catches the letters and he starts to climb down the bag. They run across the departure longue with the letters and the woman follows Henry and Marcel but finally she falls down on the floor. Then Marcel and Henry put the letters in Barton s desk. Barton gives the letters to a man from the museum. 4. Did you like the book? I like this book because is entertainment, I like adventure books and detectives. 5. What was your favourite part? My favourite part is when Marcel and Henry catch the letters and they run across the departure longue.

6. Recommend? Why or why not? I recommend this book because it is funny and enjoyable. As the book has got a lot of phrasal verbs is a bit difficult because you have to look up. 9. Jim and the Beanstalk - Jim is a boy who helps giant to good feel like. - Giant: is a pesky giant. He is unhappy. 2. What happens? Jim woke up and saw an enormous plant growing outside his window. He began to climb up the plant. When he arrived top of the plant, Jim saw a castle. He knocked on the door a very old giant opened the door. The giant was unhappy. Jim saw that the giant was short-sighted, ha hadn t any teeth and he was practically a bald giant. Jim helped him. Jim got some big glasses, false teeth and a curly red wig. The giant felt like good again, and the giant was ready to eat his favourite food fried-boysandwich. Jim hurried back down the beanstalk and cut it down. The giant had written a paper and left a giant gold coin because Jim was his friend. 3. Did you like the book? I have learned a lot of new words, also I have learnt that you have to appreciate your friends and trust in yourself. 4. What was your favourite part? My favourite part is when the giant sent a huge piece of paper wrapped around a giant gold coin and the giant said that Jim was his friend 5. Recommend? Why or why not?

I recommend this book because it is entertainment, but it is a book with a lot of words that I don t know so this makes me to get new expressions.
