Tyfo Fibrwrap Blast Panels Prefabricated Blast Wall System

Tyfo Fibrwrap Blast Panels Prefabricated Blast Wall System DESCRIPTION Tyfo Fibrwrap Blast Panels are prefabricated composite walls comprised of the various Tyfo Fibrwrap Composite Systems. Typical panel dimensions are 10 feet wide and 12 feet tall with a panel thickness of 7.5 inches. Sizes do vary based on project-specific requirements. USE Tyfo Fibrwrap Blast Panels are unique, prefabricated composite walls. They are tested and custom designed to meet project-specific pressures and impulses associated with both accidental and terrorist explosions. Tyfo Fibrwrap Blast Panels can provide building envelope protection for blast mitigation or protection of interior space in industrial facilities. ADVANTAGES Does not use fiber reinforced concrete (FRC) or (ECC) Validated blast testing Prefabricated system Ease of installation Energy dissipating characteristics Mitigates high pressures and impulses Incorporates the rigorously tested Tyfo Fibrwrap Composites Fire tested per ASTM E119 * Weights and dimensions will vary based on the project parameters. The criteria for each project is dictated by the engineer of record and any relevant building codes and/or guidelines. The design should be based on the allowable strain for each type of application and the design modulus of the material. The Fyfe Co. LLC engineering staff will provide preliminary design at no obligation. Test reports are available upon request. Fyfe Co. TYFO BLAST panels Tyfo Blast Panel Systems are manufactured by Fyfe Co LLC. These blast resistance wall systems are comprised of steel studs sheathed with a thin cementitious wall reinforced with Tyfo Blast Glass and have typical wall thicknesses and weight. Shock tube testing has proven the system s ability to resist pressures up to 30 psi at an impulse of 135 psi-ms. This is equivalent to 750 Ibs. of TNT at 83 ft. After three consecutive tests, the permanent deformation was only 1-1/8 inch. They are easily constructed using conventional construction methods. The wall assembly can be easily finished with any type of material such as brick or stone. Tyfo Blast Panels are easy to install and can be finished with any type of material Tested in a shock tube, the blast-resistance wall system survived high pressures with limited deformations exhibited Interior of shock tube showing driver and expansion sections The blast-resistance capabilities of the prefabricated blast-resistant wall systems can be evaluated using pressure-impulse diagrams Also available - Prefabricated, Field Prefabricated or Super Concrete (Tyfocrete ), block and brick walls reinforced with Tyfo Fibrwrap.

TYFO BLAST panel MODELING The composite steel stud wall designs were analyzed based on a nonlinear dynamic Single-Degree-of-Freedom (SDOF) analytical methodology. The key output from the SDOF analysis is the peak dynamic deflection of the structural component. For most flexural components, it is convenient to convert this value into a support rotation, θ, by assuming a center-hinge deformed shape as is typically observed in plastic systems, and then applying simple geometric relationships. Using the dynamic enhanced material properties of the steel studs and concrete, a moment-curvature plot was produced to determine the moment capacity and stiffness of the wall panels. From this, the SDOF model parameters were calculated using one-way beam methods described in UFC 3-340- 02. These experimental results allow us to analytically predict the response of various shapes and sizes of wall design for our clients prior to committing to full-size testing. Equivalent Spring-Mass SDOF System Experimental vs Analytical Displacement Calculation of Support Rotation from Peak Deflection

FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER (ATCT) Tyfo Blast Panels were utilized as a prefabricated energy absorbing exterior wall building system. The wall system was designed dynamically to resist the total blast overpressure. The wall system s dynamic design also considered the pressure/time function (impulse). The project required large-scale proof testing on a calibrated blast shock tube at pressures greater than 20 psi with an associated minimum impulse of 120 psi-msec. The blast panel size and shape were configured to meet project geometry requirements.
