Engine BHW, Exhaust system components, removing and installing Page 1 / 6 26-1 Exhaust system components, removing and installing Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required Ring spanner set 3337 Warning! When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to clearance issues: Route all the various lines (e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, EVAP system, coolant, refrigerant, brake fluid and vacuum lines and hoses) and electrical wiring so that the original positions are restored. Ensure sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components. Note: Exhaust manifold, removing and installing 21-1, Turbocharger, assembly overview, Turbocharger, assembly overview. After exhaust system repairs, make sure exhaust system is not under stress and that it has sufficient clearance from the bodywork. If necessary, loosen double clamps and clamp and align exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the bodywork and the support mounts carry uniform loads.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system Page 2 / 3 contact surface on intake manifold for contamination and clean, if necessary. After replacing EGR Potentiometer G212 ignition must be turned on and then off again. Then, wait one minute for control module after-run (valve is learning, main relay must click during this time) After above replacement procedures, start engine and let run at idle for at least 1 minute. Then, check DTC memory of Engine Control Module (ECM); there must be no DTC stored in memory 23-2, Engine control module DTC memory, checking and erasing If a DTC is stored in memory, erase DTC memory and perform procedure again. 10 Nm O-ring Replace Intake Flap Motor V157 Intake manifold Seal Replace Connecting pipe For Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system 25 Nm Radiator
