Cranberry Place provides a variety of programs that meet the needs of patients who no longer require care in a hospital but need 24-hour skilled nursing and rehabilitation care. A team of UPMC professionals works cooperatively to enhance quality of life and return patients to their highest level of independent functioning. Caring, dedicated staff provide comprehensive skilled nursing and rehabilitation services that address the physical, psychological, and social needs of each patient. Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Services For patients requiring 24-hour nursing care, Cranberry Place offers the following specialized services on site: IV therapy Physical, occupational and speech therapies Private and semi-private rooms Wound care Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU) for short-stay, skilled patients Hospice care Respite care Feeding tubes Respiratory care Dialysis Pastoral care Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) Ventricular assist devices (VAD) Tracheostomy Telemedicine Partnering with the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute, Cranberry Place offers a Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU) for short-stay skilled nursing and rehabilitation patients. Rehabilitation In collaboration with the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute and UPMC Centers for Rehab Services, Cranberry Place offers strong patient-focused rehabilitation services, allowing patients to move through patient-appropriate levels of therapy as they progress. As a result, Cranberry Place patients reap the combined benefits of outstanding physical, occupational, speech, and restorative therapies as physicians work to develop new treatments that are shared across UPMC. The Cranberry Place Transitional Rehabilitation Unit (TRU) for short-stay skilled patients provides convenient access to a well-equipped, spacious therapy area. Board-certified physiatrists (physicians trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation) are integrated into the patient care team. The oversight of the unit by the UPMC Rehabilitation Institute provides patients with the best possible rehabilitation. Facility Features Registered nurse supervisors 24 hours a day, seven days a week Telemedicine enabling geriatricians to provide remote patient assessments Continued care by patient s personal physician if credentialed by Cranberry Place or choice of a Cranberry Place physician Hospice services to support patients and families coping with loved ones who are terminally ill On-site outpatient dialysis unit Cancer treatment support for patients with all types of cancer Monitoring of patient s nutritional status and delivery of therapeutic diets by a registered, licensed dietitian Coordinated discharge planning for a seamless transition
