Check to ensure OleMiss wireless is visible in the network connections. Click on OleMiss wireless and make sure it is enabled to connect automatically by clicking the corresponding box (if it is not already selected). Next, when you open up your web browser this page should automatically load. Log on with your SMBHC WebID & password. (In order to do this you must have first logged in at one of our stations in the lab and changed your password from the default one you were given). Then, click Continue.

Next, you will be prompted to Launch the Cisco Agent. Click the blue bar to proceed. If the Cisco Agent fails to launch and you receive this message that is okay. Proceed by clicking on the bar to Download Cisco Agent. Next, when prompted, select that you d like to Run the file.

The Cisco Agent will likely take a few minutes to fully install. Once it finishes installing or launching, you will see this screen. Enter your SMBHC username and password in the corresponding fields and select Log In. Once you successfully log in, you should now see the Cisco NAC Agent icon in the pop up arrow in your toolbar.

Open up your web browser again. Make sure you are now able to connect to and browse the internet. Now that you ve installed the Cisco Agent, you need to set up your VPN connection. From the Start Menu go to the Control Panel. Then, select Network and Sharing Center. Under Change your network settings select Set up a new connection or network. In the next window, click on the Connect to a workplace option. You can see that option is highlighted in blue in this example. Then click Next on the bottom right.

On the next window, click on Use my Internet connection (VPN). You can see this option highlighted in the example left. Within the next window, you will need to type in the Internet address as shown here. It is: 130.74.178.33 Also, provide a Destination name of your choosing something like SMBCH VPN will work well. Then, click Next. Here you must enter your SMBHC user name and password again. Note as shown in the example, honors\ must precede your regular user name. So, you must type honors\username. Then, enter your password as you normally would and click Connect.

The system will take a few moments to verify your user name and password in order to connect to the VPN. DO NOT click on Skip or Cancel during this time! This screen will appear when you have successfully connected to the SMBHC VPN. You may click the Close button at the bottom. Now, when viewing your network connections in the bottom right of your desktop toolbar you should see that you are connected to SMBHC VPN and OleMiss wireless network.

Now to add printers From the Start menu, select Devices and Printers (which will lead you to this screen). From here, click Add a printer on the top left of the screen. Next, click on the option for Add a local printer. You will then be prompted to Choose a printer port. Select Create a new port: Then in that drop down menu, select Standard TCP/IP Port as shown in the example here. Click Next.

Now, you ll have to input an IP address for each printer you d like to connect to. For the printer in room 107, enter the number in the space for Hostname or IP address as shown in the example (130.74.178.40) it will automatically fill in the number for Port Name. Then, click Next. You will have to go thru all these steps for printing again to add additional printers. The numbers for the other printers are as follows: Computer lab - 130.74.178.44 Room 315 130.74.178.50 On the next screen, the printer name should be found automatically and appear as is shown here. Click Next.

Next, select Do not share this printer as shown here. Click Next. Finally, you will receive a message that the printer has successfully been installed. You may select to Print a test page if you d like. Then, click Finish *Remember to go back to the first step for adding a printer if you would like to add the other available printers as well. In order to retrieve any documents you have saved on your honors college accounts you can just click My Computer and in the address bar type in one of these commands: \\130.74.178.18\docs\username to retrieve any documents in your user folder. \\130.74.178.18\desktop\username to retrieve what exists on your SMBHC user desktop. \\130.74.178.18\users\username to connect to all your folders. NOTE: For the purposes of the commands above, please enter your own username where username is mentioned.
