Specific Application Pads; We offer the most comprehensive custom / bespoke pads service in the UK. We produce a range of application specific pads developed to suit a wide range of client specific needs. We can tailor any pad to suit exact customer needs for specific application, machine, foot and load spread requirements. UniMat Slide Fit Pads: Pads can be manufactured to slide fit onto the stabilizer / outrigger foot to ensure A perfect fit and central pad set up at all times. Ideally suited to lorry mounted cranes, aerial platforms and 360 telehandlers stabilizer feet. The slide fit pads benefit from ease of set up and de-rigging as the hydraulic jack pulls the pad clear of the floor to a comfortable uncoupling height. Slide fit pads up to 600mm square are manufactured by advanced tooling techniques, to produce a high quality single piece pad. No joints / mechanical fixings to ensure a robust product with enhanced longevity. Larger slide fit pads utilise a secondary fix to keep pad weight to a minimum. Optional Integral handle cut out or rope handle Central hole to smaller pads enable bolt fit to chassis for safe transportation Don't see exactly what you need? Let us develop and manufacture it for you UniMat Slide Rebate Pads: Designed to suit spider mounts / van / smaller vehicle stabilizer legs which extend down diagonally; The UniMat Slide Rebate Pads eases set up where the diagonally extending leg applies sideways pressure upon contact with the pad. An elongated central foot channel avoids the foot from slipping beyond the edge of the pad and contains it within the pad area. Optional Integral handle cut out or rope handle Rebate to suit vehicle / machine foot dimensions Don't see exactly what you need? Let us develop and manufacture it for you UniMat Top Rebate Pads: All of our standard pads up to 600mm are provided with our unique industry leading Safety Grip top face finish. This reduces the risk of slippage particularly associated with new cut face pads. Where a more specific centre foot location rebate is preferred, this is accommodated with a class leading 10mm deep recess. This can reduce the risk of the stabilizer foot slipping away from the centre of the pad. Please note that lesser depth rebates may prove inadequate. Also note the reduction in effective structural mat depth. Thicker pads may be required to adequately spread the applied loads. For all load spread mats, load capacity / effectiveness depends largely on the outrigger / stabilizer foot area and the ground beneath the mat. can offer comprehensive application checks by experienced temporary works engineers to ensure customers have the correct level of support and product confidence

UniMat HDPE Sleepers Available in various standard sizes and any bespoke size to suit client needs Suitable for; Outrigger load spread, Outrigger levelling, Hydraulic jack support Reduce manual handling risks associated with traditional larger load spread pads Standard Integral high quality rope handles Standard Safety Grip finish to upper and lower faces (supplied smooth if preferred) Company name on ID label as standard (optional additional engraving if required) The UniMat Sleepers have been developed to suit load spread, outrigger levelling and hydraulic jack support functions, whilst offering manual handling advantages over larger single piece pads. They comprehensively address the concerns associated with traditional timber sleepers. For many years, temporary works engineers and others have held concerns regarding the use of timber sleepers for load spread and levelling. It was once a common site for a crane to set up on sleepers before engineering consideration slowly eroded their use. Ungraded timber and degradation in the form of cracking / splitting and rot due to water absorption all contributed to their demise. Plastic crane pads are nothing new, but using multiple layers of plastics is avoided due to the risk of slippage at the pad to pad interface, particularly on new pads. The new UniMat Sleepers incorporate an industry leading surface treatment to upper and lower faces which greatly increases surface grip to address this concern. In the photos below, the impressive Safety Grip finish is demonstrated at the Vertikal Days exhibition in June 2012 where the product was launched. The same safety grip finish is now a standard feature for s comprehensive range of standard load spread pads. Safety Grip demonstration 1200x400x80mm = 1.44 m² of load spread area Three sleeper lower layer, two cross laced above The Sleepers are manufactured from high density polyethylene to impeccable quality standards and offer the ultimate in load spread / levelling flexibility with unrivalled durability. Some examples of application include; 500 x 250 x 100mm (11.9 kg), / 600 x 300 x 100mm (17.9 kg) sleepers, utilised in multiple layer cross laced stacks to satisfy outrigger jack levelling / axle support requirements. Smaller lorry loader cranes, spider cranes, concrete pumps and aerial platforms benefit from the 1000x500x50mm three sleeper / two layer set up, offering 1m2 of load spread area and 23.9 kg modules (two beneath one cross laced above). 1.44m² of load spread area using 1200x400x80mm (36.7 kg) UniMat Sleepers, three beneath two above. 2.44m² of load spread area using 1500x375x80mm (43 kg) UniMat Sleepers, four beneath two above. As for all load spread mats, load capacity / effectiveness for the sleepers depends on the outrigger / stabilizer foot area and the ground beneath the set up. offer comprehensive application checks by qualified temporary works engineers to ensure customers have the correct level of support and product confidence.

UniMat HDPE Access Mats UniMat HDPE Access Mats provide optimal protection and safety for work on vulnerable or unstable ground. They permit temporary access for vehicles and machines and our unique Safety Grip / Chevron Cut treatment ensures optimum grip during site operations. The UniMat HDPE Access Mats are fabricated from high quality first generation polyethylene. This material is made only from new production remainders, and when reprocessed has the same properties as material produced from new raw material. The material is tough, resists abrasion, and has good elasticity and elongation properties. This means that the access mats will deform rather than compress, shear or otherwise break. It should be noted that the deformation of a access mat is an indication that its working load is being exceeded and therefore alerts the operator to take appropriate action. Deformation will be directly proportional to the depth of mat purchased thicker mats will deform less / perform better under higher loads. Surface Finish Options: 1. Smooth / low friction (industrial skate friendly) to suit industrial machine moving operations (above left). 2. Where grip is desirable our unique Safety Grip treatment offers an excellent cost effective solution (below). 3. For the ultimate grip performance our Safety Grip treatment combined with additional 20mm wide, 5mm deep chevron cuts maximize grip where vehicular access is required (above right).

The unique Safety Grip finish offers excellent pedestrian and vehicular traffic stability Installation is aided by the provision of handle cut-out sections and optional fastening cleats. The mats can also be pre-drilled with 20mm diameter holes to facilitate steel pin ground anchorage / bolted webbing strap attachment or simple cable tie fixing. UniMat HDPE Access Mats are produced to spread loads imposed by pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Mat thickness choice should be made taking into account the type of duty and conditions likely to be encountered during operations. The ground beneath the mats should always be firm and level. An appropriate investigation should establish the bearing capacity of the ground to be loaded to ensure the pad area is sufficient to avoid exceeding permissible bearing capacity limits. The size / make up of a mat for any given load is dependent upon the bearing capacity of the ground, the applied load and the area over which the load is applied. The following general rules should apply at all times regarding Access Mats site use: When handling access Mats always wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Gloves, safety footwear and high visibility vest as a minimum Ensure the mats are clean and free of debris prior to use Check the access mat is the correct size for the item of plant / planned works Always employ best practice manual handling technique when setting up mats, mechanical aid may be required for mats weighing more than 25 kg (single person lifting) and 50 kg (two person lifting) Ensure there is no debris beneath the mat and that is has full contact area with the ground beneath it. A sand bed may be required to ensure optimum load spread Ensure there is no excessive movement / deformation / settlement beneath or surrounding the mats. If any doubt exists regarding mat / ground suitability do not proceed / terminate operations and seek advice from a suitably competent person Ensure constant vigilance / regular inspection of the mats / surrounding ground Similarly, during operations; if in any doubts exist regarding mat / ground suitability do not proceed / terminate operations and seek advice from a suitably competent person Upon completion of operations, clean off the mats ready for next use

Additional Guidance Notes: Mats should not be used to bridge voids. Mats should not be used on brittle surfaces such as manhole covers and drain grating. Mats should not be used to impose loads beyond the minimum required distance from the edge of excavations, river banks, sea walls and similar hazardous situations. Mat deformation is an indication that the loading / ground conditions require a higher specification mat. Mats which become deformed should be replaced. Mats and lifting handles should be regularly checked for wear and security and replaced if necessary. Mats should be stored away from heat sources likely to exceed 80ºc. To avoid the typical low friction cut face of newly produced HDPE, the UniMat Access Mats can be provided with a unique safety grip finish to the upper face. This surface treatment can be reinstated by at additional cost if required. Optional unique ID / Company name engraving to each pad available at extra cost. Example load spread area consideration for UniMat Access Mats 40mm thick; 1000 x 1000 x 40 mm UniMat HDPE Access Mats provide 1m2 of load spread area. As a guide this area should be capable of withstanding 30 tonnes of central load subject to ground conditions (based on the load covering 1/3rd of the pad. More concentrated loads may reduce this capacity. See earlier note regarding deformation / suitability for loading / ground condition). It should also be noted that to withstand this load, the ground beneath the mat should have a minimum permissible bearing capacity of 30 tonnes / m2 (30 tonnes divided by 1m2). Material Properties: The material properties table on the right is provided to enable temporary works suitability calculations. offer an extensive range of pads to increase load spread areas / reduce subsequent applied pressure where required. Concentrated point loads applied onto the Access Mats may be addressed with additional load spread pads positioned locally beneath the point load. Size Availability: The Access Mats are available in the following thicknesses and in mat sizes to suit exact client requirements up to 4m in length; 15mm (Weight approx. 15 kg / m2) 25mm (Weight approx. 25 kg / m2) 30mm (Weight approx. 30 kg / m2) 40mm (Weight approx. 40 kg / m2)
