OVERVIEW Principles of the European legal framework on the recognition of professional qualifications Data collection

PRINCIPLES Rationale Scope of the Directive Three systems of recognition, 2 of which relevant for health professionals Automatic recognition (doctors, nurses, dentists, veterinary surgeons, midwives, pharmacists, architects) General System of recognition, extended to specific cases of sectoral professions who cannot benefit automatic recognition Regime for temporary provision of services Administrative co-operation reinforced

DATA COLLECTION under current PQD Basis: Article 60 (1) of the PQD As from 20 October 2007, Member States shall, every two years, send a report to the Commission on the application of the system. In addition to general observations, the report shall contain a statistical summary of decisions taken and a description of the main problems arising from the application of this directive.
