MIPI D-PHY Physical Layer Solution Configuration Guide
Recommended ParBERT 81250 MIPI D-PHY configurations There are two MIPI D-PHY configurations available with the ParBERT 81250. The main differences between these two configurations are the maximum data rate and jitter injection capabilities: The first of these configurations is the 3.35 GBit/s economic configuration with 500 ps jitter injection capability. The maximum data rate of 3.35 GBit/s limits the usage of Par- BERT modules for other standards and applications. The second ParBERT 81250 MIPI D-PHY configuration is the 7 GBit/s multi application setup. As this setup up includes 7GBit/s ParBERT modules it can support a wider range of standards and applications. The table below shows the differences between the two configurations in relation to jitter injection capabilities. Seperate jitter on clock and data lanes 3.35 Gbit/s Economic Solution 7 Gbit/s Multi-application Solution Possible setup suggests clean Possible setup suggests clean clock clock lane and jitter on data lane and jitter on data lanes only lanes only Jitter capabilities 500 ps delay line 200 ps delay line plus jittered ParBERT clock (see below) Externally jittered ParBERT clock Not possible Data rate dependent example at 1 GBit/s Max supported jitter Data 500ps Jittered Clock + 200ps Clock 500ps (capability not used in setup) Jittered Clock + 200ps(capability not used in setup) Agilent MIPI D-PHY Configuration Guide
