Welcome to NC Write! We are excited about your interest in utilizing our formative writing tool. You can now purchase student licenses for NC Write directly from the Welcome page by completing the online enrollment form. This form serves as a convenient method to purchase student licenses for one or more schools by collecting essential information including the district name, school name, number of students, and the billing and school contacts. Purchasing Student Licenses for a North Carolina Public School or District* A minimum of 100 student licenses per school must be purchased by an authorized buyer in order to enroll as a school or district. 1. Launch your favorite Internet browser on your computer. 2. Type www.ncwrite.com in the address field at the top of the browser window and press Enter on your keyboard to access the NC Write Welcome page. FIGURE 1.1 - NC Write Welcome page 3. 4. Enter District Code On the Purchase NC Write page, enter your official District Code in the required (*) field and click Continue. Figure 1.3 Entering the District Code 5. Add Students Click Add to begin the enrollment process for one or more schools in your district. The rate information is displayed below the Licensed Students table. When the Add Students window appears, select a school in your district from the drop-down list and enter the number of students who will be using the NC Write tool. Then click Add. The enrolled school and number of students will now be listed in the Licensed Students table for your district. REMEMBER: To use NC Write, a minimum purchase of 100 student licenses is required for each school. 7. To add student licenses for additional schools, repeat Step 4: Add Students. 8. Checkout Click Next to begin the payment process. Then enter the Billing Contact Information in the required (*) fields. The information entered in this section will determine where the invoice or receipt will be sent whether you are paying by Purchase Order (PO) or credit card, respectively. Figure 1.6 - Entering the Billing Contact Information 9. Scroll down to enter the School Contact Information for each school in the required fields. This person will serve as the primary contact for NC Write at each school and will receive a welcome email with information on how to get started with the online tool. 10. Scroll down further to enter the Payment Information in the required (*) fields. Click the Payment Method drop-down arrow to select Credit Card or Purchase Order from the list. If you are paying by credit card, enter the Card Number and select the Card Type (Visa/Mastercard) and Expiration Date (month/year) from the applicable drop-down lists. Then click Submit Payment to complete the checkout process. Figure 1.9 Entering Payment Information Purchase Order 11. Confirmation Once you have submitted your payment information, a message will appear confirming your order. Figure 1.10 Confirmation Message The billing contact will receive an invoice corresponding to your Purchase Order number or a receipt showing payment by credit card. The school contact(s) will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to get started with NC Write. Page 6 of 10

Purchasing Additional Student Licenses for a School or District Schools can utilize the online enrollment form to purchase additional student licenses throughout the school year. NOTE: To purchase additional student licenses, you must be an authorized buyer. 1. Contact our support desk at support@ncwrite.com or call (855) 987-9871 to request authorization to purchase additional student licenses. 2. Once you have been authorized, complete the NC Write Online Enrollment Form to add additional student licenses (see Purchasing Student Licenses for a North Carolina Public School or District* on page 3). 3. Follow steps 1 and 2 above each time you would like to add student licenses for NC Write. Purchasing a Single Student License A single student license (i.e. home education, summer enrichment, tutoring) can be purchased for $50.00 per year. To purchase a single license, complete the following steps: 1. Launch your favorite Internet browser on your computer. 2. Type www.ncwrite.com in the address field at the top of the browser window and press Enter on your keyboard to access the NC Write Welcome page. FIGURE 2.1 - NC Write Welcome page 3. 4. On the Purchase NC Write page, find the Community College or Home Use section on the right. Click the drop-down arrow and select the student s grade level to begin the course enrollment process. Then click Purchase. Figure 2.3 Enrolling a student for home use 5. Create a student account by completing the form on the Create an Account page. Type the Student Information in all the required (*) fields including first name, last name, username, password (and re-type to confirm). Figure 2.4 Creating a student account Page 8 of 10

The email address is only used if you forget your password. If entered, you can click the Forgot your password? link in the Sign In area on the NC Write Welcome page, enter your email address and receive a password reset message with instructions to change your password. 6. Please review the NC Write Terms of Service and click I Accept to complete the course enrollment process. Click Cancel to return to the NC Write Welcome page. Figure 2.5 Accepting the Terms of Service 7. On the Purchase page, enter the billing and credit card information in the required (*) fields. 8. Click Submit to complete the payment process. A charge of $50.00 from Measurement Incorporated will appear on your credit card statement and a receipt will be sent to the email address provided. Purchasing a Parent/Teacher License NC Write is now offering a Parent/Teacher license. This purchasing option includes one teacher account and up to five student accounts for $200 per year. The teacher account allows a parent/teacher of a student (i.e. home school, community college, tutoring) to create custom writing prompts, add students to multiple grade levels, and monitor student writing progress. To purchase a Parent/Teacher account, please email the NC Write Support Team at support@ncwrite.com or call (855) 987-9871. Page 9 of 10
