Welcome to Password Self-Service With the Password Self-Service password management tool, you can now go online and use Password Self-Service to manage your Scott & White network (Novell) password. Password Self-Service is a fast, secure way to directly change your network password without contacting the Help Desk. Once you have enrolled in Password Self-Service, you can also use the service to reset your password should you forget it in the future. Accessing Password Self-Service To access Password Self-Service, simply open your Web browser, type mypassword.sw.org into the address bar, and push the Enter key on your keyboard. You may also access Password Self-Service through the Help Desk web site on InSite. 2
Logging in to Password Self-Service Upon accessing the Password Self-Service web site, you will be directed to the Scott & White Secure Login screen. Enter your Scott & White username and password and click Login. Using a Challenge Question to Enroll in Password Self-Service After submitting your Scott & White user name and password, you will enter the Password Self-Service site. If this is your first visit to Password Self-Service, you will be prompted to create a challenge question and a challenge response to enroll you in the service. Choose a question for which only you know the answer. Enter that question into the Challenge Question field. Enter the answer to the question in the Challenge Response field. You will be asked to submit a challenge question and a challenge response only for your first visit to Password Self-Service. After submitting your challenge question and your challenge response, you will be enrolled in Password Self- Service. Once you have enrolled, you will be able to use the Password Self- 3
Service to change your password or to reset your password should you forget it in the future. NOTE: To ensure your password s security, be sure and select a question for which only you know the answer. Do not share your challenge question and your challenge response with anyone. Giving others access to your challenge question and your challenge response effectively gives them access to your Scott & White password. Resetting a Forgotten Password Once you have enrolled in Password Self-Service, you can use your challenge question and response to reset your password should you forget it. If you forget your password, simply go to mypassword.sw.org and click the Forgot your password? link at the bottom of the screen. After clicking the link, you will be prompted to specify your Scott & White username. After submitting your username, you will then be asked to enter the challenge response that you created when you first enrolled in Password Self-Service. 4
Challenge responses are case-sensitive. When using your challenge response to reset your password, you must use the same capital and lower cases in the response that you used when you originally created your challenge response. Once you have submitted the correct challenge response, Password Self-Service will guide you through the process of resetting your password. Changing your Password Use the Change My Network Password link in the left navigation to access the Change Password interface. 5
