Administrative Prerequisites Depending on which version of the Windows operating system you have, you might need Windows administrative privileges before you can install the Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office. Windows Version Windows XP Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 2008 Requirement You must be a member of the Microsoft Administrators or Power Users group. See your system administrator. Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office Installation Product Components to Download Download this product from the Infor Xtreme website: Product Name Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office Version 10.0.x Platform Windows Installation This procedure explains how to install Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office in your computer. Installing Lawson Add-ins Before you start Uninstall any existing versions you have of Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office. For uninstallation procedure, see "Uninstalling Lawson Add-ins" on page 11 1 Close all other applications currently running on the machine where you will install the Lawson Add-ins. 2 Run the install program you downloaded. On Welcome screen, click Next. 3 Accept the terms on the License Agreement screen, and then click Next. 4 On Customer Information screen, type your user name and organization name. Choose whether this application should be installed for all users, or only for you. Click Next. 5 On Custom Setup screen, select the wizards you want to install in the default location C:\Program Files\Lawson Software\Office Add-ins. If you do not want to install an add-in, select the icon next to it and choose This feature will not be available. To install the program to a different location, choose Change to browse for a different folder. Important: If you are installing this version of the Lawson Add-ins over an existing version of the Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft - Landmark, and you change the folder where the application is installed, follow the post-installation procedures to reconfigure the Excel add-ins. For more information, see "Post-Installation" on page 8. 6 Click Next. A message will be displayed, telling you that the InstallShield Wizard is ready. Post-Installation This section of the installation guide provides the following: "Configuring Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office" on page 8 "Verifying the Installation" on page 8 "Launching Lawson Add-ins" on page 9 Configuring Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office After the installation, Infor Lawson add-ins drop down menu will be added on the Excel Add-ins tab automatically. Make sure that the Add-ins tab is enabled in Excel to show Infor Lawson add-ins. If the Add-ins tab is disabled, follow these steps: To enable Add-ins tab in Excel 1 From the Excel menu bar, click File > Options. Excel Options window displays menu for preferences. 2 Click on Customize Ribbon from the Options side menu. 3 Choose Main Tabs from the Customize Ribbon drop down list. 4 In the Main Tabs list, enable Add-ins and click OK. Verifying the Installation Before you launch Lawson Add-ins for the first time, verify that you can log into the Lawson system through your web browser. Then, launch the Lawson Add-ins and log into Lawson through the Excel Add-ins. To test your Lawson web server login 1 Open Internet Explorer. Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office Installation If you use the Lawson Portal, type: http://webserver:port#/lawson/portal Where WebServer:Port# is the name of your Lawson web server and the web server listening port. Note: If you use a secure server, use https:// in the URL. 2 When the Lawson login screen appears, enter your Lawson user name and password. If you can log in, Lawson Add-ins has been installed and configured correctly. Important: If you cannot log into Lawson using a web browser, there is a problem with your web server or with IOS. You cannot log into Lawson Add-ins until the problem is resolved. Set up user security for Lawson Add-ins Before you can use Lawson Add-ins, security must be set up. Set up the security attribute for Lawson Add-ins for users of this product. Set up access to Lawson applications. For more information, see Lawson Administration: Resources and Security Launching Lawson Add-ins Follow this procedure to open Lawson Add-ins in Microsoft Excel. 1 Open Microsoft Excel, and click on the Add-ins tab. 2 Click the Infor Lawson button and then choose a wizard. The Lawson login screen will be displayed. 3 Type the following: The Lawson server name and port number (for example, http://myserver.company.com:80, where "80" is the port number for accessing the Lawson Portal (Lawson System Foundation 9.0.1.x) or Lawson for Workspace (Lawson System Foundation 10.0.x) Your Lawson Single Sign-On user name Your password 4 Click OK. Upgrading or Uninstalling Lawson Add-ins 3 This section of the installation guide provides the following: "Upgrading Lawson Add-ins" on page 10 "Uninstalling Lawson Add-ins" on page 11 Upgrading Lawson Add-ins There are currently no upgrade versions available for the Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office. When upgrades become available, installing an upgrade for Lawson Add-ins is the same as a new installation. For instructions, see. The differences between a new and upgrade installation come if you install the upgrade into a directory that is different than the original Lawson Add-ins install directory. If you installed an upgrade to a previous version and used the same installation folder, there are no post-install configuration steps. If, however, you installed the upgrade version to a different folder, use the procedures in the following sections to reconfigure the Excel add-ins. Upgrade Paths for Lawson Add-ins If you are migrating from Office 2007 to Office 2010, you can use the following upgrade paths as your guide to which version of Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office works best to your settings. The following upgrade paths are classified according to OS architecture and Office version: Table 6. Add or Remove Programs window opens. 2 In the Currently installed programs list, select Lawson Add-ins for Microsoft Office <version> and choose Change/Remove. For Windows Vista/Windows 7 1 From the Control Panel, launch the Programs and Features.
