Pulsed Power Science & Technology Committee Development Revision of C&BL ongoing: Draft has been prepared by subcommittee and discussed with PPS&T Committee during Fall Retreat 8./9. Nov. 2013. Revisions and changes have been recommended and are currently implemented. Simultaneously a Transition Plan has been drafted. Goal is to find agreement on the C&BL Revisions among committee members first (requires 2/3 rd majority of all voting members) and then present it to AdCom before July meeting.
Technically Co-Sponsored Conferences 17th Electromagnetic Launch Technology Symposium, San Diego, California, May 26-30, 2014 (Chair: Harry Fair, Co-Chair: David Wetz) An agreement has apparently signed. 2014 IEEE International Power Modulator and High Voltage Conference, Santa Fe, NM, June 1-5, 2014 (Chair: Greg Dale) An agreement is still pursued by the chair but was apparently not yet submitted. 5th Euro Asian Pulsed Power Conference - EAPPC 2014, Kumamoto, Japan, September 8-12, 2014 (Chair: Sunao Katsuki) The chair has been approached.

PPC 2015 Memorandum of Understanding with SOFE Guiding Philosophy Common and/or equivalent services where feasible Maintain distinct technical programs and traditions Two separate meetings with a single budget Separate Publications, technical committees, registrations, oral programs, banquets (or award ceremonies) Common Daily schedule, breaks, exhibitors, poster sessions, other social activities, guest programs, Same registration fee schedule Single conference management contract MOU has been signed by PPS&T and FTC
PPC 2015 Conference Management MCM has sent draft proposal covering both meetings 10% commission from hotel (already in hotel contract) $32k Event management fee $15/registrant $1200/day plus travel and lodging for onsite support For 2 MCM staff $1000 for CVent registration website Currently in discussions with MCM on contract details
PPC 2015 Status Both conferences entered into IEEE database (PPC:33290, SOFE:33899) MOU between PPS&T and FTC has been signed. Conference Management contract is in final negotiation. Website configuration (separate and common components) is under development. Promotional materials are in development. Conference App options are being explored.
PPPS 2019 Orlando is new venue for PPC and ICOPS Attractive location for domestic and internat l attendees 800 daily non-stop US flights, 34 intl. non-stop flights Lower cost than previous venues (except ABQ) Orlando is tax and union free IEEE MCE sent RFP to Orlando hotels Three possible venues identified for June 19-22 Doubletree (Outside Universal Studios) has made the best initial proposal 50% rooms at government per diem Remaining rooms at $125 $85,000 F&B minimum Own all of 62,000 sq. ft. meeting space Other two best options are on Disney property More expensive, but significantly larger meeting space Being on Disney property may be an issue for some in current environment Want to get hotel under contract Need to visit hotel to confirm viability Need confirming votes in ExCom and PPS&T June 2013 Per Diem Rates Location Lodgin g Meals & Inc.
