Calendar for ASX Cash Market Products¹ ASX Pty Limited (ASX ) operates a trade date plus three Business (T+3) settlement discipline for security trades executed on the ASX market or on the execution platforms of other Approved Market Operators (AMO) which use the ASX Trade Acceptance Service. The seller has an obligation to deliver sold securities on the third Business Day after a transaction, and the buyer has an obligation to pay for those securities on that same day. The term Business Day means a day other than: (a) a Saturday, Sunday, New Year s Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day; and (b) any other day which ASX notifies Facility Users is not a Business Day. ASX will declare a Non-Business Day on all national holidays and whenever banks are closed in either Melbourne or Sydney. ASX may declare other days to be Non-Business in special circumstances. in securities does not take place on Non-Business, nor is a Non-Business Day counted when calculating the relevant settlement day for securities transactions effected on prior days. This calendar is specifically designed to assist Participants and investors in calculating the date on which securities settlement obligations fall due. Its layout is similar to a conventional calendar, although for each day, two additional dates are shown. The date in the top left hand corner is the date of those securities transactions, which are due to settle on the current day. The date in the bottom right hand corner is the due settlement date for securities transactions executed on the current day. It should be noted that trading on the markets of AMOs may continue on days when banks are closed in either Melbourne or Sydney due to a local holiday, notwithstanding the declaration by ASX that the day is a Non-Business Day. Special provisions apply for Non-Business. When a Non-Business Day occurs as a result of a national holiday or a declaration by ASX in special circumstances and the markets of AMOs are closed, no trading or settlement will take place. However, when a Non-Business Day occurs as a result of a local holiday in Melbourne or Sydney, trading will continue but no securities settlement will be effected. As a result, two days of securities trading will fall due for settlement on the same day. This is highlighted in the calendar by two dates appearing in the top left hand corner of the relevant due settlement date. ¹The defined term Cash Market Products will be replaced with securities throughout this document.
