At the Airport Prague Airport is the most important international airport in the Czech Republic and the biggest airport among the new EU member states. This international air hub yearly services between 11 and 12 million passengers. Your journey starts at Prague Airport, sometimes called as Letiste Vaclava Havla. This airport has two terminal buildings. For non-schengen flights, Terminal 1 is used, while Terminal 2 is used for Schengen flights. From both buildings, you can take a special bus called Airport Express, providing direct interconnection of air, rail and urban mass transit. This bus will take you fastest way through Prague city center to the Main Railway station ( Praha Hlavni Nadrazi ). Please leave the building and find a bus stop. This bus stop will have a sign AE. The bus departs every 30 minutes and it takes around 50 minutes to get to the Main Railway station. You can buy ticket only directly from the driver. The cost is 60 CZK, luggages are free of charge. You can pay only in CZK, so please change some money at the Terminal building. At the railway station The main railway station was originally opened in 1871 by Franz Joseph 1. of Austria. Fanta s building is Art Nouveau station building built in 1909. The station itself was newly reconstructed in 2010. Your task is to ask for a single ticket to Hradec Králové [hradets kra:love:]. The cost is 163 CZK.
After you bought a ticket, it's time to check information board with departure times. You can get oriented by train numbers, which is the first information from left side on the information board. Please make sure, that the train you choose is going via Hradec Kralove hl.n. The journey from Prague railway station to Hradec Kralove takes about 1h 40min. After you reach Hradec Králové, don't forget to leave the train. :-) You need to check a platform number, which is the second information from right side. The last on the right is delay time, don't panic if your train is delayed, just wait, it s pretty common. Now, if you have time, you can just take a walk around. Please avoid going too far to a park in front of the building. It is very dangerous area widely called Sherwood, for it's criminal reputation. Also, anywhere you are, please keep your luggage with you at all time and beware of pickpockets. When it's time, go through an underground passage to your platform. To get there, follow blue signs Nástupiště (Platform). Remember, your destination is Hradec Králové.
