Program overview The Graduate Program in Quantitative Economics is a full-time program taught entirely in English. The aim of the program is to prepare students for professional careers in universities, research organizations, international institutions, consultancy and business. The rst year of the program provides students with a sound training in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Econometrics. In the second year students specialize in selected topics, such as Public Economics, Labor, Behavioral and Experimental Economics. The rst two years of the Program lead to the degree of Master. Then, students with a strong academic performance and a high research potential are admitted to the PhD Program, where they work on their thesis for the degree of Doctor (PhD) in Economics. Our graduate students come from di erent countries, and the spirit of the program is truly international. Financial support (teaching or research assistantships) is available for the best performing students. Admissions The Graduate Program is open to any student with a Bachelor Degree. Candidates with a strong background in economics and/or mathematics are encouraged to apply. Students have to pre-register online and attach the following documents: Statement of purpose. O cial transcripts from each university attended. If the original transcripts are not in English or Spanish, they should be accompanied by a translation. Curriculum Vitae. Two reference letters (sent directly by the referees). Our students in the last 10 years About 50 PhD graduates who are working in di erent institutions: Universities in Spain: Autónoma de Barcelona, Carlos III de Madrid, Rovira i Virgili, Navarra, Pablo Olavide, Granada, Málaga, Pais Vasco, Murcia, Salamanca, etc. Universities abroad: Brown Univ. (USA), Univ. Maastrich (The Netherlands), Massey Univ. (New Zealand), European Univ. at St. Petersburg (Russia), National Research Univ. (Russia), City Univ. London (U.K.), Univ. Westminster (U.K.), Univ. York (U.K.), Univ. Padova (Italy), Univ. Madeira (Portugal), Univ. Guanajuato (México), Univ. Santiago de Chile (Chile), Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (China), etc. Other organizations: Statistics O ce (Denmark), Bank of Spain, etc. At the moment, there are 34 students in the Program (22 in the PhD and 12 in the Master). A total of 24 students with nancial support. On average, 78% of the rst year students successfully nish the Master, 68% of them continue to the PhD program and 82% of them successfully nish the PhD.
