Secure Tester is a feature in FL IBTP that prevents students from accessing other browser windows once they have started their tests. Installing Secure Tester Quick Reference Card When you move the icon to the desktop, it will look like this: Verifying that Secure Tester is Installed Although a system coordinator should have installed Secure Tester on all test computers, it is a good idea to check a few of the machines that students will use. If this icon appears on the desktop, Secure Tester is installed. If you do not see the icon, contact your system coordinator or install Secure Tester using the instructions on this document. Installing Secure Tester After installing, system coordinators should validate that Secure Tester was installed in the appropriate location. The default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\schoolnet\schoolnet Secure Tester\. Macintosh Instructions Be aware that on a Macintosh, the icon goes to the Downloads folder first, not to the desktop. You may need to drag the icon to the desktop. To download Secure Tester: 1. 2. Select Security & Privacy. 5. Enter the username and password, and then click Log In. User Name: support Password: iloveschoolnet 3. Under General, confirm that Anywhere is selected for Allow applications downloaded from so that you can install Secure Tester. 6. Select Secure Tester from the Product menu and then click Search. 4. 7. Download the Mac file. 9. In Chrome, it will also go to the Downloads folder, but it will be a zipped file. Double-click the zipped file to unzip it. 8. 11. Drag the Secure Tester icon to the desktop. When you drag it to the desktop, the icon looks like this: 14. The URL will be specific to each district. After http:// you will enter prodsnibtp.fldoe.org/ followed by your district name. The first letter of the district name is capitalized; the rest of the letters are lower case. Also, there are no spaces between any words in the district name. It is very important that this URL be entered correctly. Following are examples of correct URLs. 12. Double-click the Secure Tester file to launch it. 13. Click Open on the confirmation window. prodsnibtp.fldoe.org/dade prodsnibtp.fldoe.org/hillsborough prodsnibtp.fldoe.org/st.lucie 15. Click OK. 16. Click Cancel and repeat the download and install process for the other test computers. 3. Select Secure Tester from the Product menu and then click Search. Windows Instructions To download Secure Tester: 1. Go to http://support.schoolnet.com/releases. 2. Enter the username and password and then click Log In. User Name: support Password: iloveschoolnet 4. Download the latest PC version of the file. You ll know which is the latest version by looking at the Date field. Save the msi file to the desktop (there may be two downloads available, so select the file that has.msi as the extension). 5. Copy the snsecuretester.msi file to a folder. In this example, copy the file to c:/schoolnet>. To ensure that Secure Tester is installed properly, an admin user should install it from the command prompt. Open the start menu and type CMD in the search, then: 6. Right-click cmd and select Run as administrator. 7. In the Command prompt, navigate to where SnSecureTesterPC.msi is located. In this example, it is saved to c:\>schoolnet). 8. To change directories in the command prompt, type cd / then press the Enter key, and you will be at the c:\> prompt. 11. Press the Enter key and click Run. 9. Type cd Schoolnet then hit the enter key, and you will be at the c:\schoolnet> prompt. 12. Click Next on the Setup Wizard. 10. 13. Check I accept the terms in the License Agreement, then click Next. 15. The URL will be specific to each district. Once you enter the district URL, select Verify to confirm that the URL is valid. 14. Use the default settings to select the installation folder and click Next. 17. When the valid URL confirmation appears, click OK. 21. The icon will appear on the desktop. 18. On the Confirm Installation window, click Install. 19. Once the program is finished installing, click Finish in the Installation Complete window. 22. Click the Secure Tester icon on the desktop and make sure you see the sign in screen. 23. Click Cancel to exit the program. 24. Repeat the process for the other test computers. 20. Close the command prompt window by clicking the X. Once Secure Tester is installed, select it on the test settings page when scheduling a test. Refer to the job aid on scheduling tests for more information.
