OSHPD, Heath Careers Training Program (HCTP) Grant Eboni Cross - 5000 people across the state (spread by word of mouth) -Uses membership meetings for exposure. -Targeting low economic background and minorities (African Americans/ Southeast Asians) Matthew Grayson- Grant (if available) to expand from June 2014-15 targeting schools (high schools/middle schools) C. Daisy Award Matthew Grayson - Formed by parents of child who passed away from an autoimmune disorder. It is now recognized worldwide. - No DAISY award currently being offered at school- can be used for faculty OR students. - Required to pay $400 into foundation, and aims to raise funds. -300 hospitals worldwide participate. D. CNSA Minutes Policy Proposal Joseph Vaughan - Motion made by Joseph Vaughan, Seconded by Jireh Somera - Discussion on wording- revised. - Amendment motioned by Devin Grey (approved by consensus) - Motion carries by consensus E. CNSA Scholarships Joseph Vaughan - Presented completed CNSA Scholarship essay to board - Discussed lack of essay submissions for Critical Care scholarships - Board will be working with Critical Care in developing future essay topics for quarterly/annual scholarship - Cathy melter suggested the board post winners/sponsors on CNSA website -Include in annual report, include recipient/sponsor- allow recipient to know of sponsor. F. ANA/C Update Cathy Melter - Trisha Hunter- RN lobbyist politician - Discussed importance nursing involvement G. You re hired Brenda Brozek

- Gave copies to all present board members - 2010 produced with CNSA (publisher) sold roughly 3600 copies, 400 copies left ($18 + shipping through amazon) - Surviving and Thriving- a follow-up about how to be successful within first year of acquiring new job. Includes 43 stories from RN s about experiences early on in their careers. - Pat MacFarland stresses importance of re-reading state nursing practice act often. H. ACNL/California Action Coalition/Lois Capps Update Patricia McFarland - Working on week long program (now 5 days) in conjunction with CA AC - Graduate program in which students will earn 3 transferrable credits through CSU. - Developing relationship with potential donors. - Applying for another scholarship from CA AC - Encourage RN voice through communities- Susan new president-elect of ACNL. - Lois Capps- elected representative is DC (RN). Discussion about support of Lois Capps throughout nursing community, including CNSA. I. Fundraising Group/Budgeting/Accounting Patricia McFarland - Accounting report/ balance sheet as of Feb 26, 2014-1/3 of revenue from membership dues, rest from convention/ vendors - Clarified purpose of making motion to accept accounting report * Motion to accept accounting report (Devin Gray) seconded by Eboni Cross, passed by consensus J. NSNA Convention Planning - Board discussed flights and other expenses. Also discussed what students would be going. * Motion to approve $7,000 for convention (Eboni Cross), seconded by Jennifer Ericson, approved by consensus. - Country Time Jamboree- everyone wants to attend! K. NSNA Bylaws Amendment Proposal Speech Matthew Grayson M - Matt will be presenting the proposal at NSNA Convention in Nashville L. Event Agreement Form M - Presented "Event Agreement Form", which was created for local chapter use in response to adopted resolution submitted by Fresno State during CNSA's House of Delegates 2013. Indemnification language and instructions on form need to be created before distribution. Discussion ensued about adopting form as a policy for CNSA versus sample form for use by local chapters. M. CNSA Media Policy Jireh Somera - Current policy is dated (2006) - Will work with board in near future to update it N. Tour of Facilities - Board took a guided tour of CSULB facilities to be used for Membership Meeting

Directors/Chairs Reports *Joseph Vaughan moves that a vacancy be declared for CNSA Legislative Director because of non-performance of duties listed in current Bylaws; Article IX, Section 2.E. Motion seconded by Devin Grey Vaughan/Gray/Passed - 8/0/0 A. Membership South Director: Membership South Meeting Samantha Ahwah - Recruiter from Valley Presb. - Discussed replacing Legislative Director speaking slot - discussed parking arrangements - Board members will be arriving at 0700 to help with registration, set-up, etc. B. Membership North Director: No Report Given C. Convention Director: CNSA Convention Jennifer Ericson - Brainstorming ideas/asking for ideas for upcoming convention D. Legislative Director: NSSI, NSNA Resolution, and CNSA Convention 2013 Resolutions (resolved clause implementation) Maria Estrada - Seat currently vacant E. Secretary-Treasurer: Scholarships (CNSA, Critical Care) - Previously discussed in section E of New Business (above) F. Breakthrough to Nursing Director: 10,000 Hands in Motion Campaign Eboni Cross - Aimed to promote BTN across the state - 3 pillar of focus Unity, Opportunity, and Hope - Provide mentorship opportunities in communities (CNSA would mentor) - Planning to fundraise for scholarships G. Communications Director: ROM, FB, Website Jireh Somera - Currently working to update/ revamp CNSA website H. Community Health Director: Ashley MacRunnel - Gathered information needed for upcoming newsletter - Looking to network throughout the state - Promoting disaster training - Currently working with Samantha Ahwah (2012-2013 CNSA Community Health Director) I.
