MAY/JUNE 2016 03 Pets on a Leash PHOTO BY: SARMIATI STABNER BLOCK PARTY DID YOU KNOW? All public parks in the City of Wetaskiwin - including By-the-Lake Park and Peace Hills Park require pets to be on-leash at all times. Failure to obey these rules can result in a fine as per City Bylaws. KEEP OUR PARKS BEAUTIFUL: The City of Wetaskiwin is blessed to have many wonderful, clean, and inviting parks and recreational areas for residents to enjoy. Let s keep it that way! The City (strongly) encourages all pet owners to be responsible and clean up after their animals. For more information, contact the City Protective Services Department at 780-361-4401. A neighbourhood block party is the opportunity for neighbours to get together, meet each other, have fun, and maybe work together on a common activity. Getting together with neighbours is not only enjoyable but it also enables a renewed attachment among people in your area. Why have a neighborhood block party? 1. To meet your neighbours 2. To increase that sense of belonging to a community 3. Establish new friendships and welcome newcomers to your neighbourhood 4. To learn a little about each other and who might need extra help from time to time Resources are available through Family and Community Services for setting up block parties in Wetaskiwin. For more information, please call FCSS at 780-361-4425.
