Gloveboxes Class III BSCs Isolators Standard and Custom Designs Germfree s line of Gloveboxes are constructed from heavy-gauge stainless steel featuring large coved radius corners for ease of cleaning and decontaminating. Gloveports can be round or oval and are ergonomically placed for maximum comfort. Custom Class III Bio-Safety Cabinets Germfree routinely builds Class III Biological Safety Cabinets to the exact specifications of researchers. We have vast experience integrating pieces of laboratory equipment within the containment area. Custom Class III projects include the use of mock-ups to ensure maximum ergonomic results. Single and double-sided designs available. Class III Aero-Biological Chambers with Battery-Powered Mobile Transfer Cart Germfree co-developed aerobiological equipment with the U.S. Army and pioneered the use of rapid transfer ports (RTPs) for biocontainment and research applications. This unique design provides a new level of safety and comfort for both researchers and lab animals. The battery-powered transfer cart is equipped with a large RTP that docks to the aerosolization chamber and allows a safe and efficient transfer of the research animal. Class III Animal Housing and Isolators Germfree is the only company offering high containment for animal research applications including poultry isolators. Animals can be conveniently housed within Class III containment. Double-door autoclaves, rapid transfer ports, and chemical dunk tanks are integrated to the systems to allow for transfer of research animals or support materials. Germfree builds to your specifications. Portable Class III Glovebox Using battery power, Germfree s Portable Gloveboxes allow flexibility for researchers. The rechargeable battery provides air flow and containment while moving from one location to another. When plugged into a standard AC outlet, the unit operates and recharges the battery. Germfree also provides Class III Systems for field applications that conveniently store and ship in their own cases. S.E.A. Glovebox - Safe, Ergonomic, Affordable Germfree s most basic Class III BSC Glovebox is simple, affordable, and ergonomic. This glovebox is ideal for researchers with space restrictions or limited budgets. Germfree s SEA glovebox provides an added level of safety in facilities that lack reliable secondary containment. Gloveboxes for other applications Germfree can also accommodate your containment needs when the hazard is chemical or radiological. Chemical Gloveboxes are polymer-coated for chemical resistance and offer maximum personnel protection at a fraction of the airflows that traditional fume hoods need. Germfree can also equip the exhaust with military grade carbon filters.

Integration of Laboratory Equipment Germfree can integrate virtually any piece of laboratory equipment into Gloveboxes, Class II and Class III Biological Safety Cabinets and custom Fume Hoods. Double Door Autoclaves Double-door autoclaves offer a very safe method to remove items from containment areas. Germfree offers two styles of integrated double-door autoclaves. First, Germfree has experience integrating many commercially available double door autoclaves. And for those situations where facility steam is not available, Germfree offers our own reliable autoclave. Multi-Chamber Glovebox Line Germfree routinely builds multi-chamber glovebox lines to accommodate the entirety of processes that researchers need. Often each chamber has an integrated piece of laboratory equipment designed to perform a specific task under containment. Chambers are able to be isolated from one another to allow decontamination of a single chamber or the entire line. Dunk Tanks and Pass-Thru Chambers Chemical dunk tanks and pass-thru chambers allow researchers to introduce items to the containment areas and to safely remove items from the contained area. Because Class III BSCs and other containment equipment require safe means to remove items, Germfree offers choices to the researcher. Chemical dunk tanks, pass-thru chambers (ante-chambers, air locks), and double-door autoclaves are all proven means to safely accomplish this task. Rapid Transfer Ports (RTPs) Available in 5 diameters (up to 460 mm ~24 inches), RTPs allow the safe transfer of chemical and biological items into and out of Gloveboxes, Class II and Class III Biological Safety Cabinets, Fume Hoods, and controlled rooms. Germfree has a great deal of experience using RTPs in a variety of settings including research animal transfer. Canisters available in stainless steel and plastic. Equipment Integration Incubators, microscopes, autoclaves, aerosolization equipment, centrifuges, and other pieces of laboratory equipment are routinely integrated into containment enclosures. There is no limit to what Germfree can integrate into our containment enclosures. We take the time to work out the best ergonomics while ensuring your safety.

Mobile Laboratories Trailers Trucks Vans Containers Mobile Containers Germfree makes a variety of Mobile Laboratories built to suit the unique needs of researchers. From quick response to outbreaks and other hazardous events to national security missions, Germfree can provide the mobile laboratory that fills the need for flexibility of response. Built for up to BSL-3 specifications on a variety of vehicular platforms, Germfree has the experience to provide you with exactly what your mission requires (containment for biological, chemical, radiological or any combination). Mobile labs are typically fitted with reachback communications and other security measures. Ruggedized: Developed in conjunction with the U.S. Army, Germfree mobile laboratories are ruggedized to withstand the rigors of transportation. Germfree routinely provides pneumatic (air ride) cushioning for delicate lab instruments installed on lab benches. The equipment is locked in place and is protected from the road shock and vibration associated with transport. Fully Integrated: Germfree can integrate any piece of laboratory equipment into an on-board containment enclosure. Trailer Laboratories Trailer labs are available in a number of standard sizes to suit workspace requirements of lab workers. Trailer labs can be built to BSL-3 specifications, can be fully decontaminated, and Germfree can provide all the bench space and casework needed to perform required lab activities. Truck Laboratories Built to your specifications, truck labs represent the ultimate mobile laboratory. Completely self-contained, truck labs are typically equipped with slide-outs to maximize laboratory space once in place. RTPs are often used to bring items from the field directly into the containment equipment within the truck lab via external access. Van Laboratories Van labs offer a small platform for applications where sample collection and limited testing in the field is needed. Germfree is capable of installing a large amount of containment equipment into this small space. When quick transport to remote or urban areas is required, van labs fit the bill. Mobile Container Laboratories Mobile container labs feature retractable wheels for convenient shipping by C-130 aircraft (also by rail, truck, and ship). Additionally, it can be pulled like a trailer for final placement. Mobile container labs also feature slide-outs to maximize lab space once in place, and they contain the same security items as our other mobile laboratories.

Modular & Container Laboratories Modular construction provides a great cost alternative to new construction. Germfree can build modular laboratories to the exact specifications of the researchers. There are no limitations to what we can design for you. Interior walls are made from Arcoplast material that provides coved transitions and allows for effective decontamination and easy cleaning. Modular Labs can be built to BSL-3 specifications including Germfree BSL-3 casework that is specifically designed for ease and thoroughness of decontamination. Modular labs are also expandable if your needs change in the future. HVAC Systems: All Germfree Modular Laboratories are equipped with high quality HVAC systems designed and engineered to provide secondary containment as well as comfort and safety of personnel. Germfree has an experienced staff of in-house engineers who specialize in the design of bio-containment labs including HVAC systems for BSL-3 Laboratories -- modular and mobile. Germfree performs all engineering functions in-house. Shipping container Labs Standard insulated shipping containers, typically used for refrigerated service serve as the platform for container labs. Multiple units may be joined together to provide a large work area for the lab. These labs are equipped with aluminum interiors and exteriors to provide both sturdiness and an appealing design. Each container section is shipped separately and assembled on-site. Germfree is pleased to work with you for site preparation to ensure a trouble-free installation.
